In 1983 Larry and Colleen Halliday started Spindle Factory with a small saw and a spindle copier lathe. Over 30 years later and the same lathe is still being used to make spindles. We cater to a broad range of commercial and residential customers. We offer a large selection of design, material and combination that will satisfy your needs. From a traditional turned style Baluster and Newel to a more modern straight lined look we have many selections to accommodate your taste. This combination gives the warmth of the wood rail and post mingling with the coolness of the steel and Stainless Steel spindle.
Be sure to ask about the type of wood, the grade selection and characteristics to make an educated purchase for your stair and railing. We only carry S&B (Select and Better ) grade A raw lumber. Even with such high standard, there are still knot holes, color variation, etc. it is Wood. Not all wood species are "railing friendly" due to their lack of coming in longer lengths.

We went to a few companies to replace our railings in our home. We chose Spindle Factory and were very pleased with the workmanship and the design that the installer Joe Wilk did for us. He was very professional, polite but above all he did an amazing job with our new railings. His experience in his trade absolutely shows and our railings are perfect.

From the very first email I sent to Spindle Factory, they were very punctual on answering any inquiries, questions I had. They provided expertise advise. They were willing to offer suggestions/solutions/ideas. The contractors they sent to our house was outstanding. The contractor by the name of "Joe" has been with them for many years he is meticulous, professional, polite. He left our home looking absolutely beautiful. Not only we gained a friend in Joe.

We had stair bannisters removed and new ones installed from Spindle Factory by Norm and his wife Sharon. They did a wonderful job! They get top marks on all aspects of the job...including being personable! Then came the staining crew, who also get top marks for a wonderful job. Menon was our contact at Spindle Factory and he was excellent in setting up the sale and the logistics of the job. Would highly recommend Spindle Factory!!

We were impressed with Spindle Factory right from the start when we went in to look at a railing install as part of a Reno on our house. Tony showed us around and we were able to select exactly what we had been looking for. Order was placed upon our deposit and the schedule matched exactly what Tony had given us as an estimate for arrival and beginning of install. The installation was a fantastic experience, as Joe is a master craftsman as well as a great guy and he went above and beyond in giving us the best work possible. He even gave me numerous tips on how to complete the rest of the stairs

From the beginning to the end of this project our experience has been excellent. Heather was magnificent at taking our vision and incorporating it into our space. She was even able to talk me off the ledge when I started to second guess my decisions and reassure me that the final product would be beautiful (and it is). And then there are the installers. Norm and his magnificent wife are the best. Words can not express what a marvelous couple they are. From the start of installation to the end it was an absolute joy to welcome them into our home. They walked us through every step of installation

During her first visit, my wife was introduced to Heather Reid who was most helpful in showing and describing the options available and putting together a plan.
My input was allowed the next day as we went back to the showroom and I got to nod my head and say “good choice honey”.
A few days later, Heather visited our home to take measurements which was followed within 24 hours with a written quote and documentation to sign, all done via email.

If you're thinking of dealing with these folks I have one word of advise n- don't.
Had a 2-piece stair railing installed and the installer wouldn't follow my instructions and when I phoned the company to complain, he lied about what I told him. Now I have to fix his mistakes as both parts of the handrail are coming loose - not good.
