Weekend activities, horseshoes, volleyball, sandy beach, store, laundry, fishing, two playgrounds, showers, dumping station, and a beautiful recreational hall for all of our special events. Friendly service, reasonable rates and beautiful surroundings make this family campground an excellent choice.
All the long-term campers waved to us as we drove through even though we only stayed a few nights and the one such resident that I spoke to was happy to share information about the campground and fishing with me. Wonderful place to relax and get away from city life, ,, the beach is clean the people are outstanding, , the owners rock, ,, that's what keeps me coming back.

At McGowan Lake Campground we are continually working to maintain and upgrade our facilities to make your stay with us pleasurable and bring you back for future visits. Our cheerful and helpful staff's number one goal is to make your stay enjoyable.
McGowan Lake Campground has 228 sites including 25 unserviced sites for tent camping, 18 serviced sites (water and 15 or 30 amp hydro) for trailers or tents, and 185 seasonal sites (up to 30 amp hydro).There are a wide variety of treed, partially treed or open sites depending on your preference.

I spent 4 seasons at McGowan Lake. I truly loved it there. My spot was beautiful, peaceful, albeit no power. I made due with a solar panel to get by and charge my batteries. After spending many years before without much of a break, a divorce, battling cancer and becoming a single mom to a boy with ASD, this became my weekly paradise. I… couldn’t wait until Friday came. I happily drove the 2.5 hours to get up there every week to enjoy the fresh air and solitude.

REVIEW UPDATED**
- attached termination letter -it’s also been brought to my attention that there was another incident that involved POLICE at McGowan. A man without the grounds was attempting to enter peoples… campers without their permission, and actually got into physical altercations with other campers. Police Arrived and it took several men to apprehend him, and calm him down. Turns out he was on drugs, and is related to the owner. He has not been “terminated” from the camping grounds. -another situation that has come to light, is that several people have been waiting
