Our company started in 1986 and is now one of the largest privately owned truckload carrier in the province of Nova Scotia. Our development as a carrier was the result of a strategic combination of acquisitions and organic growth. This has allowed us to offer an interesting blend of truckload services across varied industries and demographics.
We have facilities in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Ontario. We connect these domestic truckload markets daily and have extended our reach well into the USA. Chicago, Illinois; Houston, Texas; and Greenville, South Carolina are just a few of the many U.S. cities we serve on a regular basis. Our cross border fleet is comprised of of dry vans and reefers for truckload activities connecting Canada and U.S. markets.

Services
With our head office located in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, it only makes sense we would be putting some miles on to connect Atlantic Canada with U.S. markets. As a matter of fact, our average round trip to and from the States is between 3,000 to 5,000 miles. Chicago, Houston, most of the Midwest, and the Carolinas are currently our highest areas of traffic.
The Atlantic Provinces bring in all types of goods to fill the needs of the businesses and industries located here. Consumer goods, including food and household requirements, make up a big part of the commodities we haul. Retail appointments and unassisted, after-hour deliveries are a daily occurrence.
We transport your goods requiring set temperatures locally, domestically and to and from the USA. Our modern reefer fleet of 53' vans is complemented by a large chassis fleet for your temperature controlled sea containers - transported to and from the port of Halifax. Transporting our customers' temperature controlled truckload requirements was a natural fit given our location in Atlantic Canada and our key lanes of activity.
The container demurrage charges at ports and rail yards are a daily expense that adds up quickly and can be avoided completely by utilizing our container transport (drayage) service. We have an in-house fleet of 20 and 40 foot chassis and specialized equipment to transport your refrigerated commodities in any length.
Commodities like paints, thinners, oils, pool chemicals, cleaning products, fireworks, batteries and many raw materials have a special rate classification termed hazardous or dangerous goods. You need ongoing training and certification to transport and handle these commodities. GTL has it! Because of the tightening rules governing hazardous goods transport, prompted by 9/11, many carriers moved away from hauling these commodities.

Not good company for driver. No respect from company manager Mr. geoff dowe.he thinks we driver are his slaves and company helping driver in immigration that give him a right to harass the driver. I worked for company 2+ years during that period I didn’t enjoy my personal life and if anything goes wrong it’s easy for him to blame driver. I wish i could get my those 2 years back and could change my decision to join this company. Most driver don’t speak because he creates problems in giving immigration paperwork. Company promised me to give a paperwork for immigration on completion of one year

Worst company to drive for. No respect for drivers. Here is an example how they treat their drivers. They sent me a dispatch but it was missing some information. I could not see it because I was driving. So, when I stopped and was out of hours, I sent them a satellite message, not direct message , no call, just a satellite message, so that it won’t bother anyone. This is the reply I woke up to. Their reply was “ send an email at that time in the evening and you sit for the night. Don’t you ever waste my time again at that time. Ignorance’s is all that is.” I have uploaded a screenshot

I appreciate I got sponsored by Nova Scotia but I also worked really hard to get my pr by staying within the rules and guidelines of province. I knew you will comment about PR only, because you don’t have answers about the layovers being eaten by Geoff and misbehaviour of Paul with drivers. Why drivers just leave GTL after PR ? Bcos they are mentally stressed and harassed by GTL employees. They don’t wanna spend a single day in GTL after PR. Pay attention to drivers and listen to their problems. Rather than being nice in comment section, please be nice to drivers in

Worst company. Gives you 50-100 km dispatch per day just to cut off your layover. 12-14 days of trip with 4-5 layovers, but you will not get any of them. It directly goes into Geoff Manger’s pocket. He comes with different excuses every time. Paul gives hard time to driver. He doesn’t know how to talk to drivers. I would recommend to go for Eassons or Clark Transport.

I have left several messages to confirm employment of an employee and nobody gets back to me. On a links account Matthew Tian listed he worked here.He lied to others that he still worked there and this lie caused a lot of damage to two people.I just needed confirmation of employment for this sociopathic scumbag but nobody returns calls which isn't professional or courteous.

Critical: Professionalism, Quality
I worked for them a few years ago. The owner of the company assaulted me by grabbing ahold of my shoulder in the dispatch office and attempted at speaking down to me. Also would over hear people in the office using alot of racial language towards some of their drivers. It was truly one of the most unprofessional places I've worked.
