Our urbanmine leadership has four generations of experience working in metal recycling business. Take a trip into the past and hear how metal recycling used to be done and how we've redefined it today. Honesty underpins everything we do. Like goodwill, trust is earned over time and that's why most of our clients are long-term valued relationships.
At urbanmine we recycle metal, electronics, batteries and catalytic converters. Using innovative processes and modern equipment, we prepare all the materials to be reused in a safe way that's good for the environment and good for our customers. Our public scales are our promise to be honest and transparent.
When a client realized her old metal recycler was inconsistent in reporting the weights on trucks and metals, she switched to urbanmine and found savings with our transparent practices. Urbanmine helps commercial clients ensure your scrap returns improve your bottom line at the end of every quarter.
Don Zieglgansberger from Estevan, Saskatchewan makes 40 trips a year to urbanmine hauling anywhere from one to four tons of scrap each trip. Don really likes our public readout scale. Whether you're a plumber, pipe fitter, electrician, welder, carpenter working on a job site; a farmer with scrap on the back 40; a member of a colony; or a scrap collector - we welcome you to urbanmine with a smile, clean yard and a competitive price.

Quick and easy to get in and out of their yard. Staff is friendly and pleasant to deal with.
They do not pay as much for material compared to the competition. It is the only yard in the South West corner of the city, which sets them apart from the others if saving travel time is important if you live nearby. The yard is often full (their reason they gave me for paying less than others) but they keep it organized and easy to navigate.
There's not much room in the yard if there are multiple trucks unloading so I tend to 'stage' or unstrap and unstrap my load on the street by the railroad tracks
