Swanson & Associates has been providing quality care since 1996 and is now a multidisciplinary service provider in Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec. Our experienced team of registered professionals utilize evidence-based approaches and effective models of rehabilitation to provide cost effective, transparent and accountable services for our clients.

Our reputation is built on understanding our clients' needs and using collaborative interdisciplinary communication to provide individualized treatment programs, one-on-one treatment and supporting them on their journey to independence. We provide a functional approach to assessment and treatment directed towards the return to pre-injury life roles including work, leisure and activities of daily living.
Services
At Swanson & Associates, the rehabilitation program for traumatic brain injuries is evidence based and utilizes a functional approach. Team members have extensive knowledge of, and experience with severe, moderate and mild traumatic brain injury. Our approach recognizes the importance of learning compensatory techniques for functional tasks, but also promotes remediation of cognitive skills.
Swanson & Associates health practitioners utilize guidelines from the International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP) and current pain management research. Our multidisciplinary team of health professionals each address components of need while working closely together. The need for a high level of communication between team members is recognized and supported.
Following a serious orthopaedic injury, a referral for an occupational therapy assessment and assistance with discharge planning is frequently sought. The occupational therapist may see the client in the hospital to determine recommendations from the inpatient team and to determine the client's functional status in order to facilitate the provision of safety, mobility and accessibility equipment for the home.
Following an amputation, mobility and accessibility are primary issues. Attendant care assessments are provided as additional support is often required particularly in the initial post hospitalization period prior to dispensing of a permanent prosthesis. Liaison with the prosthetist is provided to facilitate funding and functional use of prostheses and to provide analysis on the need for speciality prosthetics for work or recreation.
Learning to live with spinal cord injury can be very stressful as it affects so many areas of a person's life. Our occupational therapists, physiotherapists, social workers and case managers have the training and required skills necessary to optimize the client's independence.

Our team has experience with bowel and bladder management, skincare management and attendant care management, as well as solutions to more practical issues such as: home modifications, wheelchair prescriptions and adaptive transportation.Work and educational reintegration generally follows home based therapy and community reintegration.

We had the pleasure of working with the team at Swanson & Associates after my husband went through a vehicle accident and traumatic brain injury. Going with Swanson was the best decision we made.
We used their services for Case Worker, Physiotherapy, Social Work/Psycho Therapy, and Occupational Therapy.
In particular Louise, Rosemary and Christine helped us both make tremendous progress. They truly care about their patients and make the process as easy as possible. They gauged their treatments and referrals specifically to his needs and personality. We would highly recommend this group!
