The Christie brothers first opened the doors to the bakery on 33rd street in 1932, three years before the Bessborough Hotel opened downtown Saskatoon. In 1966, Ennio and Janet Muzzolini purchased Christies from the brothers and started a family tradition of baking bread that has spanned six decades and two generations.
Inspired by European styles of baking and techniques picked up from travel, siblings Blair and Tracey Muzzolini established a more traditional approach to Christies: offering Saskatoon sourdough breads, Italian pastries, and wood-fired Neapolitan pizza. At Christies, tradition isn't something stuck in time.

One of our lovely staff members, Zarish, asked me to participate in a short film for a class project. We talked through some of the history of my family and the bakery, as well as what this last year (and a bit) has been like for us at the bakery. I hope you give it a watch. Zarish did a wonderful job!

Ordered two cinnamon buns when I stopped in for bins for family dinner and the woman working took two from the bottom and declared "I got you the biggest ones." once home realized she dug down to find two burnt… ones. Lame. My kids and I were disappointed and it was almost $15 for two cinnamon buns and a dozen dinner rolls.
First and last time I will go there. better baked goods at any other bakery.

Best cinnamon bun I've found in Saskatoon. Seems they cart pastries from Christie's Mayfair Bakery to here. Makes sense. Might have to try the Mayfair location for some other goodies. Overall the place is pretty ok. Decor is lame, vibe is meh but cinnamon buns are a real treat. The staff seems to be enjoying themselves and honestly, there is something to be said about that!

Came here for a quick bite was either here or UNA, but that looked a bit more like flatbread.
pastries - dough had good flavour, but lacked the texture of crispy-ness/flakey-ness from a good patisserie
Pain aux amandes - paste good subtle flavour not overly sweet
Saskatoon berry Danish - perfect amount of berries to pastry ratio again not overly sweet
Saskatoon berry tart -
just a lot of berry+jammy filling and to me it's overwhelming and makes the Berry's taste overly sweet and covers up their subtle flavour
Margherita pizza - good dough not a lot of crust structure at the bottom

Busy little place but well worth the wait. The pizzas are absolutely exquisite. Nothing else in the city can compare to it. Pizza from Famoso and Una are put to shame by this place. The Margherita pizza is to die for. The paninis are the best i've ever had and the chai latte is delicious. Only downside is the limited hours.

Loved the ambiance of this cozy little restaurant. The pizza was amazing as was the house salad. Clearly, no expense was spared on the quality of the ingredients and the taste reflects that. Looking forward to going back to try more varieties of pizza as well as their paninis which look really good and are inexpensive ! Baked goods look amazing too. We will be returning often!

Il Secondo is, quite simply, of exceptional quality. Their pizzas are astounding - cooked in an authentic wood fired brick oven, they are full of flavour and surprisingly filling. The Calabrese and prosciutto pizzas are particularly good and reasonably priced at$17 given the high quality of the ingredients. The dough is perfectly thin (not too thin) and delicate; I'm guessing they use a proper double zero flour to make it (the best way to get an authentic Italian taste).
The baked goods are also very good; particularly the cinnamon buns and chocolate croissants. The location is perfect -

Man I wish there was a place like this within walking distance of my US home. I think I could support this place all on my own!
In this little (well 220K people) Canadian city in the middle of nowhere there is now great coffee. Now I can label it that way because I spent many years there and it's true. 15 years after moving away I return to find a Starbucks (big deal) and other coffee shops popping up but this place is miles above all others.
Some of the best bakery items I've seen in a long time. Great Espresso and I love the way they put the little accent on the top of my Latte

This is possibly the best bread bakery and pizza in all of Saskatoon. Exceptional pastries, many keep well for up to two days. Do try the Saskatoon tart, best we've had. The breads are so good they sell out fast. The pizza is traditional thin crust Italian, and they make fabulous paninis. Don't forget to order their coffee, it's rich and nutty, and cappuccino has a wonderfully thick foam. On any given day, at any given time, you're lucky to find a table - prepare to vulture.
