Helping Nature Heal
We aspire to create and restore beautiful, sustainable ecosystems that connect people with nature. It's time for pre-winter garden chores and clean-up! Do you need tips on how to prepare your garden this fall? Please join our Wednesday Workshop this month with Master Gardener, Rosmarie Lohnes and the Nova Scotia Nature Trust.

Rosmaire will teach you proper cutting back techniques at the Nova Scotia Nature Trust 'Nature's Garden' in Dartmouth, NS. Rosmarie speaks to CBC's Moira Donovan about using nature-based systems to help slow coastal erosion. We are an award-winning company with 20 years experience restoring ecosystems and helping inspire people to connect with nature.
Services
Our work is to encourage environmental awareness, stewardship, self-sufficiency, and resilience in individuals and the community. We do the work by hand and with a loving and caring mindset. We hire our team members from both our local community and from away, which brings people to the East Coast.
Whether you're looking for a landscape for your dream home or cottage, a garden to provide fresh, healthy food for yourself and your family, or a place to enjoy time with friends and family, we're here to help. We know you're landscape is not just about how it looks, it's your connection to your land.
Living shorelines improve the health of the coastal ecosystem while at the same time protecting your property. Coastlines are dynamic ecosystems that transform naturally through the processes of erosion, sediment transport and deposition. Erosion describes sediment movement caused by the forces of water and wind.
Shore Up is a hands-on community-based workshop that teaches how to use nature-based infrastructure to slow down shoreline erosion and create a healthy riparian zone. Learn the tried and tested techniques that Helping Nature Heal has been applying to the shorelines of the Atlantic region for 20 years.
