My friend and I stayed in the light house cabin on a private little path called light house lane. It provided shelter on a windy October night and kept us warm. A comfortable bed and solar lights make this little cabin everything you need. The spectacular view of the Atlantic ocean made this magical hidden gem a place with will surely revisit.

This is a great place to stay. The property is well-maintained, the washrooms are clean and provide good privacy. The shower pressure is good and the water is nice and hot.
I stayed in a cabin—there are several without power and running water and one (I believe) with. I chose the one with power and water, and it proved to be a great home base to explore the surrounding Cabot Trail area.
Cabin amenities:
-Running (cold) water in the sink
-Dishes and utensils, cooking utensils (no pots and pans)
-Microwave
-Electric water heater for making coffee or tea
-Double or full-size mattress (not

A bit confused about the good reviews for this camping. It’s overpriced, not many sites have a view and they are all cramped together. There’s no staff around and showers are loonies only, no place to make change. Everything including wood is more expensive than elsewhere.
Staff was arrogant and judgemental. Maybe they had bad experiences before with guests but overall mediocre experience.

Not a bad price. Helpful owners upon our arrival. Great view! Only complaint was there was a baggie with crumbs under the mattress when we arrived so it wasn't cleaned underneath. Also the bathrooms could have been cleaned in the morning and garbages emptied more often. Not bad as I only saw 3 people working the whole gigantic campsite. Hard workers!

Hide Away Campground is a gem along the Cabot Trail! These guys grow and harvest their own oysters, it doesn't get any fresher than that. Best oysters I have ever had! I would dive the Cabot trail just to visit Hide Away Campground. This is also at the gateway to Meat Cove, a fantastic coastal drive. The hosts are so lovely and welcoming, they are proof of the infamous Cape Breton hospitality.

Hideaway campground has always been a favorite! Staff are very polite, friendly, always willing to help to the best of their ability! I have done both had a tent lot very spacious, and their well spaced so your not ontop of your neighbor and have lots of privacy. The cabins are absolutely stunning, spacious aswell as spotless! Very reasonably priced, all items and amenities! Highly recommended staying here, weather it's with your family or some one on one time with your loved one. You won't regret it!

We stayed here from July 7-9 on site 3. We loved it. The views were stunning. Our 5 year old loved the playground. My wife and I loved the oysters. Wooded camping sites offered plenty of space. Facilities were modern and well-appointed. Owners were very friendly. The nearby beach is a hidden gem with incredible scenery. I would stay here again.
