The Sandstone Motel is known for delivering quality service, having clean rooms and comfortable beds. These are things that Jerry and Laura Dobrocane have prided themselves on since acquiring the business in 2013. In 2016, the restaurant proudly served Reba McEntire who passed through on her way to a mountain holiday.
Sandstone Motel offers a variety of room options to fit the needs of single travellers, families and small groups. All of our rooms are family friendly and an additional cost for one person can be ordered for your room. We are also a pet-friendly motel. We had the Double Queen "suite" with kitchen and sitting area. Beds are not in a separate sleeping area.
It is one large square room with a kitchen in one corner. Beds were nice. Windows were large and sound proof but would not open. This is a shame because the non-smoking room smelled of smoke. I'm sure they tried cleaning it out but the smell was pretty strong.
Kitchen had most of the basics, but it was a challenge making something as simple as spaghetti and a salad because pots and cooking items were very limited (no strainer or salad bowl). Sponge for dishes was grimy and worn out.

Overall a good place to spend the night if you’re traveling. The food is good but way understaffed. One guy works the bar, front desk, waiter and mops the floors. I would have given this place 5 stars if they had more staff and a slight cleaning issue in my room. Also, I was not able to get cold water from either tap. One was hot and the other was warm - something not right in water lines.

Dont let the age fool you. This is a nice, updated motel with a friendly staff. Very clean, and priced average for the area. The restaurant is very good, the All Canadian burger is good, and the breakfasts are huge. They do have a small lounge with slots, but cant speak to that as I dont drink. Its definitely on my list of places if I need to stop in Milk River.

This restuarant has good pizza & Mondays is buy one, get the 2nd at half off. We were here for the first time as we are from out of town. BUT the waiter (I think the owner's son) was rude and treated us like we were more of a liability than supporting their business. Even though we bought 4 pizzas and spent $70+. We also had an above average wait to be served, but we were patient and did not say anything. But the waiter was definitely not patient with us in return. I wouldn't go here again out of sheer principle!
