This was a good place to set up a base camp and explore the area around. Close to many great hiking/ biking trails, stores, and amenities. Pretty noisy as it's right in between the highway and a train track, so it was a good thing I had ear plugs in my travel kit. The campground has drinking water, firewood, showers, and a sink to wash dishes. The RV side has electricity hook ups, the tenting area does not. Over all, a convenient place to camp in Canmore.

The only reason i stay here every year is because its cheap and close to town to walk. I dont mind the sounds of the train and cars but the staff need to be more friendly. When the office is closed is says come to site 34. So I did because I needed a piece of tape due to my tarp having a tiny hole in it. They said yea at 7:30 (hour and a half later) we'll come give you that tape when we reopen. I told them im going into town and i wont be there and its sposed to rain. They said "oh well! We'll just leave it at ur site then" when we got back around 10 there was no tape. Thanks wapiti staff! I will

This campground was close to where we are traveling and we ended up staying 2 nights. It’s expensive for motorcycles-$42 plus $3 each for shower tokens. Tent sites are walk in only and you have to park on the road. The showers were super cold, not temperature controlled and I’m 5’3 and practically drowned. You can’t adjust the head. It is super noisy as well because it’s next to the highway. The staff is also never there even during the opening hours. Also ground squirrels are everywhere! You have to keep everything closed. Not the best, but good location and served the purpose for us
