I'm an RN, and I'm very, very used to scrubs and ugly white shoes. With the new position I was just granted, I was told during the interview that the dress code was business casual. I immediately panicked, because, I'd say my style is somewhere in between Kurt Cobain's and The Dude's, so thank GOD for John David Shoes for steering me in the right direction.

I came in, and said this exactly: I need a pair of shoes that will hold up over a 12 hour shift, but they have to look good. Thankfully he pointed me to a collection of nice, but colourful Michael Kors flats. I&apos

I literally just left this store. I walked in with every intention of spending 2-300$ on a new pair of boots. Perhaps I look too young to be able to have the privilege of shopping in this store. I encountered what was absolutely the rudest salesperson I have ever met. She was a middle aged lady with short black hair. She did not offer her name, as she didn't even bother to say hello. She was absolutely uninterested in helping me, just about ignoring me when I asked about sizes. I asked about a particular pair of boots. She said, and I quote "6 and 10, that's all we have. Try that

I've frequented John David Shoes on an almost seasonal basis over the years. I've always had attentive, quality service from their staff - this is made all the more remarkable because I like to go when they have their seasonal sales and I can get my favorite designer shoes (MizMooz anyone?) for half price or less and the store is almost always busy.

You will get especially lucky at sale time if you have small or large feet.My very average 8 and a halfs don't always have the best variety for a sale. But John David does sales well. They mark everything down 50% except their new arrivals

I recently fell in love with John David Shoes. It's any girls heaven.
Lots of great affordable designer choices and be sure to check out their clearance and sale section! It's a great find at the end of the season!

The staff is always friendly and Michael has to be one of the nicest and friendliest clerks in the city by far!

I 'LIKE' their Facebook page so I often get the pictures of the latest additions to their shoe family and I have to use every ounce of my will power to not hop in my car and rush right down.

Be sure to check them out on your next visit to downtown or

Walking into this store for me is like being a fat kid in a candy store. I've been a regular for 5 years now and I'm known by name in this store. They are very knowledgable about their shoes and eager to assist you in any way they can esp Michael and Jill.

They have every different kind of Women's shoe brand you can imagine I definitely feel like I'm in Hollywood when i wear a pair of their shoes. John David's is one of the best places to get shoes in Halifax with a large selection and unique/classy styles. Some say their footwear may be more expensive but you get what

After years of making noise about it, I decided that this winter was going to be the one where I bought proper warm, waterproof boots. After weeks of fruitless searching, I gave John David Shoes a try and finally found what I wanted. The first time I went in, the shop was packed and I couldn't find anyone to ask about which boots were waterproof. I hunted around some other stores and then came back at the end of the day, when it was less busy, and the salesperson was wonderful. I tried on a pair that were OK, and she recommended another pair based on my criteria that I loved. The boots were

John David has great style and great service. I bought a pair of Anna Sui Hush Puppies on the weekend and the sales staff were super nice and helpful. Unfortunately I wasn't able to buy one of each style but if I had unlimited funds I'd happily give a lot of it to JDS.

So I use to be a regular shopper here. They have excellent quality shoes and many cannot be found at any other stores around here. Their prices are higher than normal, but that comes with the brand names and the quality of the shoes.

I've usually received excellent customer service here. At one point, one of the saleswomen actually remembered my foot size.

That being said, my shopping days at JD shoes are limited due to other finanical priorities right now. But I would recommend JD shoes to anyone. And don't forget about their 50 - 80% off sales they have :)

I'm one of those people that's spent more on one pair of boots than on my rent, so I have no problem with pricey shoes, especially when they're great quality. And John David's has some great quality shoes and an awesome selection of Michael Kors. Makes my shoe-loving heart go pitter patter.

So why, everytime I go into that store, do I leave empty handed? One reason: sales staff. After reading other reviews, I'm starting to think that perhaps I always look like a shmuck when shoe shopping, because I never get good service here. Never ever. Sales staff routinely ignore

Well, I took the plunge and decided to go treat myself to a nice quality pair of dress shoes. I went with my sister-in-law, who insisted that a good quality pair of heels could actually be comfortable. Was I surprised that she was right! The sales person that helped me was an absolute delight (Jillian) and helped me find just the shoe I was looking for. I was so pleased with the service and selection that I actually walked out with a pair of dress sandals, a pair of beautiful heels and a pair of amazing boots! Getting lots of compliments... I'll be back. :-)

This Park Lane shop satisfies my lust for eye-catching shoes and stilettos. The store's owner has scoured dozens of shows, scoping out the hottest trends to showcase at the namesake store. And boy are these styles incredible! There are a whole bunch of different shoes for each buyer's tastes- from flats, to boots, to towering heels, there's something for everyone at John David. (also worth noting: pretty much every style here is available in half-sizes, which isn't always the case eleswhere- perfect for my 7 1/2 sized feet!)

The service here is excellent: one of the uber-friendly

Service was absolutely horrid. I cannot express this enough.

I LOVE shoes and I especially LOVE Michael Kors, but when an employee is extremely rude and slams a door in my face, do you think I'll go back and buy shoes? I would much rather order shoes online and pay $40 extra dollars for shipping than to give my money to a company that employs such a man.

I previously had such great service here and the lady who seemed like his superior tried to correct his rude demeanor (for no apparent reason) but his consistent unprofessional behavior was enough for me to give up on this store.

Fancy Feet, and all grown up! John David Shoes provides a refined offering of ladies footwear. Peep toes, wedges, and classic pumps for days; this is a great shop for ladies with a little extra cash to burn and an eye for dynamite designs.

Michael Kors, anyone? John David is all about him... as I browsed the store, MK was easily the most stocked designer. I noticed lots of open-toe footwear, whether it was casual or vavavoom. All styles were classic, elegant and undeniably posh. Towards the back there were some more "comfortable" and "sporty" shoes, and yet it all seems cohesive

John David Shoes has been one of my favourite places and I have sent many a people there, especially when there is a sale. I sent my sister there and she bought some pretty slamin shoes, I was jealous! And she got a fantastic deal.

I will admit, I have gone in here and saw nothing that jumped out at me, but when I am in the need for a pair, this is one of my first stops.

The staff are really nice, no pressure sales, and this is why they keep their clientele happy.

As a mostly casual dresser, I don't have frequent needs for "big girl shoes", but dress-up opportunities do present themselves occasionally, so I keep my eye out for good deals on nice shoes. This was the busiest store in the Spring Garden Shopping Centre on the recent Tuesday afternoon that I visited, so they clearly have something going right. I saw a few pairs I was interested in, but the price tags were high for my budget - $230-250 for wonderfully soft leather heels by Everybody. The collection here also included Hush Puppies, Miz Mooz, Jessica Simpson, lots of Marc Jacobs and

So, I know realize that most of the shoes in here are supposed to be designer and therefore desirable, but I didn't see anything that really stuck my fancy... and I'm quite a shoe fanatic.

Most of the boots seemed to have a lot of the crocodile skin look in flashy colours. And other than boots, it was mostly strappy, open-toed heals, some of which still had the croc skin look. Not that I have anything against that look, some people can really pull it off. But it's not for me.

The shoe pricing was still pretty expensive, even though there was a %50 off sale. I couldn't
