Services
Dr. Maggie Fung and Dr. Joanna Yu are classmates and both graduated from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry & Vision Science in 2011. We are passionate about optometry and it has been our aspiration to open a practice to serve the community and provide personal and quality eye care. In addition, we enjoy providing vision health care for those in need.
Dr. Joanna Yu began her undergraduate studies at the University of Waterloo and obtained her Bachelors of Science degree in Biomedical Science. She continued her education at the university and graduated from their School of Optometry & Vision Science. Dr. Yu completed her externship in ocular disease and therapeutics at the OMNI Eye Specialists in Baltimore, Maryland.
Dr. Amy Chow completed her Doctor of Optometry at the University of Waterloo, and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy by conducting research at the School of Optometry & Vision Science. She obtained her Honours Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto, St. George campus studying neuroscience and physiology.
Dr. Merene Wong is a certified optometrist by the College of Optometrists of Ontario. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree with Dean's Honours from the University of Waterloo in 2008. She completed her clinical education at OMNI Eye Specialists in Baltimore, where she received extensive training and gained immense knowledge in the care and management of patients with retinal diseases, cataracts, glaucoma, and corneal conditions.
Chia Yee is excited to join the Lumina Eye Care Team. She completed her Optician program at Seneca College in 2014 and has over 5 years of experience in the optical industry. With her vast knowledge and experience, Chia Yee strives to provide excellent patient care. In her spare time, she enjoys dancing and traveling around the world.

I have nothing but kind words to say about lumina eye care and their staff. My father recently had to get his eye checked for an issue with his license. Their website was easy to navigate and making an appointment online took very little time. At their office we were warmly greeted by the receptionist and didn't have to wait long at all for our appointment. I found Dr Yu to be very professional and my father was very happy with the care he received during his eye exam. She answered all of our questions and we left feeling his eyesight is in very good hands. Will definitely keep going to this

Had a wonderful experience at Lumina Eye Care. Was welcomed by the friendly staff immediately. Dr. Yu was very professional throughout the examination. They have a wide selection of eyewear and the team of Dr. Yu and Samantha assisted me with picking out my new glasses. They definitely have an eye for style. Already recommending Lumina to my family and friends.
