Dr. Whitehead has been involved with oriental medicine for the last thirty-eight years. He has studied Nesshi Therapy in Japan and acupuncture in Korea, Sri Lanka, and Canada. Centering his studies on herbs, acupuncture, and diagnostics, he finished his degree in Canada at the International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Nesshi Therapy is the strongest treatment you can have short of an operation. When you finish the series of Nesshi treatments every part of your body will be awake and functioning. We use this treatment when there are big things to change in a big way fast. When we become sick for a long time our body dumbs down.
Actually, there is so much written on acupuncture. Contrary to when I started, I find that a lot of my patients have had acupuncture before. Furthermore people are starting to understand it a lot better. However, there is still the element of mystery, This is so much so that it is hard to separate the reality from the myth.
People who are used to western pharmaceuticals can find themselves wary of taking Chinese herbs. I explain to them that it is really like an exaggerated food. A good half of the Chinese herbs used are used in cooking as well. Commonly, the cook in the house in the east cooks for the season and the condition of the people eating the food.
Most of my patients come from far away. They come here not so much for me in particular, but because I am the only practitioner of Nesshi Therapy outside Japan. Let me just say that this may no longer be true. But when you look up Nesshi therapy on line, only my website comes up. If course, you might find more if you searched in the Japanese language.

Just noticed I've never written a google review for this highly recommended practitioner...WOW!!! Amazing doctor! I can't speak highly enough about Joel! I have been working with him for more than 12 years. While living the area my visits were frequent-- treating many underlying conditions. For the past several years since living out of area--I come each year for a string of nesshi treatments, to improve my body system, balance and practice self care. Joel is a compassionate human. He opened the door and went to work on my health. I spent two weeks (since I don't live in the area) experiencing Neshi, acupuncture, and NAET for various complaints of an almost 60 year old! As I look back into my journal each one of those symptoms is gone. A seriously good health practitioner!
