Normal sound perception is a vitally important factor in our lives. Yet, all too often it's taken for granted. Our listening environment is shaped by a sound in a complex ever-present background, much of which is beneath our awareness. On a subconscious level, these sounds provide us with a true sense of participation and security in the world.
Services
To "survive and thrive", humans (and all mamals) are equipped with two ears as an efficient physiological system, to gather information about the surrounding sound environment. Two ears provide the physiological link between the physical world of sound events, and our brain which interprets and enjoys the world of sound.
Nature has equipped all mammals with two, equally functioning ears as a primary means of survival for locating prey; for hearing an enemy or approaching danger. For humans, two-eared hearing is just as necessary to survive in our noisy societies; to hear in traffic, in crowds and to understand speech.
Thanks to modern hearing instrument technology, people with hearing loss are now able to hear and understand clearly in many everyday situations. Nevertheless, Assistive Listening Devices (ALDs) can provide additional benefits to many hearing impaired individuals. Generally speaking, you should consider using an ALD if situational barriers to communication prevent you from understanding others.
Custom made for your ear, the earmold should fit so perfectly that, after an initial adjustment period, you won't know you're wearing it. The well-fitted custom earmold directs sound from your hearing instrument to your ear without feedback (a whistling noise). This allows you to hear, comfortably and unobtrusively, the sounds and voices you want to hear.
The visible outer ear is only a part of the complex organ that enables us to hear. In fact, the human ear can be divided into three parts : the external, the middle and the inner ear. The actual process of perceiving and interpreting sound takes place in the brain. The size and shape of the ear canal differs from one person to another, and is virtually as unique as our facial features or fingerprints.

I had an issue with my hearing aid and I had booked an appointment with them a week prior over the phone. The receptionist who had answered was not very polite, and was not very professional. I showed up for my appointment today and when I told them I arrived for my appointment, they told me that I didn't have one by saying "Nope. You probably had one at the other clinic."
If their own receptionist can't do one of her most important jobs and be a friendly face to the clinic, they don't deserve my business.
So I went down the street to the North Bay Audiology Clinic and even though I had never
