From the time you arrive until the time you depart you will have an amazing experience at Mountain View Campground. We stayed here twice in 2021 and we are already book for over a month in 2022. PJ, Louie, and their cute little dog Peanut will all go out of their way to make you feel welcome. You are close to Hiawassee, GA and Lake Chatuge and to all that the NE Georgia mountains have to offer.
Second time we've stayed here while passing through. Right on the Mississippi River is a treat. The night shines on the River and the tugs moving material up and down the River is not a bother. Enjoyable to watch. Easy check in, nice people. Great views of the Mississippi. You can sit and watch the barges.

This is a FREE campsite run by BLM. It is located right before the town of Quartzite. Exit west and you will see a sign on the right, that is if you didn't already see all the RVs parked from the freeway.

I stayed the previous night at hi jolly and was excited to move locations. Dome rock is definitely more of a treacherous drive than hi jolly. There are hills, big rocks and ditches that would best be avoided unless you have a truck or 4w drive. I made the drive in a Volvo. You don't need a truck for the campsites in the front but you have no privacy and there is all the noise from the
