Services
Algonquin Motel is a place we are located right on Highway where you can slow down and relax. Family owned and operated in friendly staff invites you to share our affordable rooms. We have infused our own energy and artistic talents into the rooms, and the grounds of this motel! You won't find a place like this place anyplace.
Thanks for looking us up! We are an excellent place to head towards for your next ride! We are easy to get to, and we are close enough that you can get to us today. If you like to go slow on the back highways, or if you like to go fast on any highway, we are here for you. We offer lots of ideas of things to see and do during the day.
We see a lot of people in the winter who are going dog sledding. Our neighbor, Chocpaw Expeditions is the largest and most professional dog sled tour operator in Canada. We offer accommodations and meals as part of their package. For more information about dogsledding in South River and Algonquin Park.
There are also huts available for rent on Eagle Lake from Eagle Lake Country Store (705) 386-0056. Fred Di Somma is your man out there, and he will get you set up. Eagle Lake is about 15 km from the motel, and most often caught out there is perch and some bass. There are tons of other lakes in the area, which are mostly inaccesible during the summer, so if you have a snowmobile, and you don't mind a little breeze in your face.
A lot of people ask us about this tour. The RAP is truly a great snowmobile tour, encompassing some 600 Km of TOP trail around the outside of Algonquin Park. Most snowmobilers will do the trip in 4 days and three nights, however, it can easily take longer if you break down or get lost or follow rough trails or run out of snow.

Unfortunately after 4 years of staying here I have to leave a bad review and I hate to do it because I really like the owner but.... for the first time ever we were charged the weekend rate of $107 on a Tuesday when it's always been $69 as their website mentions. Even worse it's the off season. 4 years of dedication and over charged. That's wrong Mel.... I guess at the prices we won't be back. Tv isn't as advertised. There's no movie channels at all.

Double the price it used to be at $120, with all that extra money the nice owners make they need to put it back into the rooms. The conditions are unacceptable, microwave doesn’t work, shower doesn’t work and temperature sporadic, NO working AC as stated, towels are old and shouldn’t be used on skin. Floors, walls and windows dirty I can’t imaging covid precautions and cleanliness are important.
We have stayed in many motels along the way to Algonquin and this was by far the one in most need to TLC not to mention much more $$$ per night than the others. Not good value even for one night

An excellent experience here. Beautiful, older building that reminds me of home. Exceptionally warm welcome and friendly greeting for a traveler who was looking for a warm safe place for the night. As per safety, COVID regulations are taken seriously... staff are masked and the building is cleaned regularly.
