Irwin Industries
Irwin Industries was started in the late 1960's by Cec Irwin. It has grown to become the largest installer of exterior home building products on Vancouver Island. In 2001, we founded Pro-Tech Exterior Products Ltd. which is wholly owned by Irwin Industries. Pro-tech produces many of the products which Irwin installs.

Based also at 875 Viewfield Road in Victoria, Pro-Tech manufactures seamless gutters, downpipes, Snap-It seamless steel roofing, Gutterguard gutter leaf protection, Leaf Traps, and Island Eco-siding. Pro-Tech custom brakes flashings as well as many other custom sheet metal projects. A very pleasant experience from my first phone call to the actual installation of the gutters.
Services
Irwin Industries is Vancouver Island's largest installer of exterior home building products since 1988. What that means for you is assurance of cost efficient, quality products, excellent warranty, and timely project completion with our over 50 professional installers. Our steel roofing will not rot, crack, warp, curl, chip, peel or erode.
We conduct ongoing internal training programs, we do not just hire people off the street. Newcomers to Irwin are required to work with an experienced person until we feel they are ready to work on their own, regardless of their experience with other companies. This ensures they know how we want the work performed.
Proper liability insurance and WorkSafe coverage is important to protect you in the event of a worker injury on your property. Many people do not realize that a homeowner may be held personally liable for the cost of an injured worker's rehabilitation if an uninsured or underinsured worker is hurt on their property.
The Better Business Bureau offers consumers a great deal of protection. The BBB will intercede on your behalf with accredited businesses to resolve outstanding issues. The BBB has no leverage with non- accredited companies and is limited to pointing out that they have unresolved complaints with the Bureau.
Often called eavestroughs, gutters keep water from damaging your house. Rainwater must be channeled from your roof to a storm drain system or an area well away from your house. Possible damage can include: flooded basements, mould issues (both interior and exterior), soil erosion, stained concrete, rotted decks, and stained stucco or siding.

Installed our gutters but installed two of them improperly so that the water runs away from the downspouts. Called them many times to correct this but they never came to correct the problem and wouldn’t return phone calls. The excuse was that they are really busy but it’s been 1 1/2 years now. They got their money so obviously didn’t care. Never again.

Professional from start to finish. Ron took me to see some homes with the same metal roof installed and I got to chat with some very satisfied homeowners! It transformed my home and neighbours have mentioned how much they like it. Quality install. Cleaned up the property very well when done. All done during the height of the pandemic. Came back to make one small adjustment at no additional cost. Worked with my contractor to also do some detail work on a pump house, etc. Highly recommended.

I use this shop for stock and custom gutters and downspouts. Super awesome staff. I've used them in the past for sheet metal roofing and flashing supply, and the experience has always been great.
Highly recommend.

Critical: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness, Value
I used this company years ago. I found out they use the flavor of the month for installers. The roof still leaks and after multiple inspections from other contractors. They all said the wrong flashing was used. Irwin came out multiple times to try and fix it but it still leaks in multiple places today.

I hired this company to replace my existing gutters. I was flexible enough for the installer to come on a Saturday and Sunday. Even though I paid for removal of all waste, installer left lots of gutter for me to dispose of. I contacted the company and got no reply. Many shards of metal were also left at my house which cut my hand open. I removed all their shards as I have young kids who could cut themselves. I will not pay businesses so quick in future as this company did not care about upholding the contract.

I'm giving 5 stars for one reason , Shane , the installer and his crew .
He had a rather tough job , lots of custom corners and some stripping to do.
He and his crew member did an excellent considering he had not seen the job prior to getting here.
Part of the initial conversation was that the job had to be done in one day due to location and time issues.
They managed to get it done and done very well.
Unfortunately I can't say the same for the management.
At first it didn't look like it might get completed in a day so I called the office , he couldn't have cared less.
