At Betel Home we believe in achieving exceptional standards of care that will enhance the quality of life of the residents who live in our home. Our caring and dedicated staff are committed to achieving these standards every day. The quality of each Resident's life is our primary focus and directly affected by our care.

Board, Administration, Staff and Volunteers are all linked together in creating a homelike environment that enables each Resident to live in full recognition of their dignity and individuality. We welcome you to explore our two homes, each of which offer the same exceptional quality of care. Located in the south end of Selkirk, our Betel Selkirk home offers 91 private and semi-private beds.
Services
The Betel Home Foundation was founded by a small group of Icelandic Lutheran Women who "dreamed a dream". Later in 1915 the "Home" was moved to permanent quarters in Gimli where over the years it expanded until it housed 95 residents. In 1990, a new 80-bed facility opened on this site. It was realized that there was a need for a second home thus in 1966 a new Home was built in Selkirk and was expanded upon in 1970.
Residents and families have access to our picturesque courtyard, that boasts a variety of flowers, birdfeeders, and vegetable gardens. Our gazebo offers a enjoyable shaded area for the Residents to relax. Therapists are available for consult and treatment when necessary. The Occupational Therapist visits on a regular basis for assessment and care planning.
Betel Home offers a wide variety of recreational programming and activities to improve and nurture our Resident's holistic quality of life. One full time and two part time staff in conjunction with a full time coordinator, in each facility work together with a vast volunteer base to provide ample opportunities for Residents to socialize, get active, be stimulated, and most of all enjoy themselves.
Once this application is completed it is presented to the panel board in your home region. The application is reviewed by this panel and then, if approved, is forwarded to the Home of your choice. Personal care services are offered to Manitobans who can no longer remain safely at home because of their health care needs.

I wish there was more nurses around helping the people living in here..lots of people sitting in there urin. And no one to help. I understand it's a big job but there should be more help. I don't know if it's a government issue or staff.. the food is all home made, and tasty. The kitchen area and dining room very clean..
