Yet, as it is an eastern cultural perception, certain factions of the western world are trying to either control Yoga or exploit yoga; Both in the name of commerce. The Canadian Yoga Alliance has been active since 2004 with a growing membership of over 2000 Canadian yoga teachers.

The original concept was (and is) to create a Canadian national alliance of 'yogic' minded individuals. The vision is to encourage networking beyond just personal data registration. True yogic energy is 'unifying' and this energy can be expressed across the country through the CYA. The Canadian Yoga Alliance was first established in 2004.

Go deeper into your yoga practice, teaching and connection to Bandha Practices. Pranayama Level 1 is Highly recommended before taking this, though it is not a requirement. The Bhagavad-Gita is part of the great Indian Epic Mahabharata. It is an ancient poem that teaches us about Karma Yoga (the yoga of action), Bhakti yoga (the yoga of devotion) and Jnana Yoga (the yoga of Wisdom).
