Shortly after commencing operations STEM expanded its services by acquiring the local branch office of Proctor and Redfern Limited, a large provincial engineering firm, with its 40-year history in the Algoma District.STEM has been involved in a broad range of engineering projects.

At STEM We have professional engineers who have been specifically trained in, and have experience performing, PHSR reviews. The PHSR includes the preparation of a written report by a professional engineer or a person with special expertise.
The PHSR, among other things, will identify any hazards in relation to the process or equipment and the measures that must be taken for the process or equipment to comply with the requirements of Regulation 851.

This project involved the replacement of an aging 48 coke oven gas pipe with a new one which was rerouted to improve future access to the area. We first scanned the entire area in 3D with our laser scanner. Next, we modeled all existing pipes, buildings & supporting structure in 3D. Our new route was then developed with this 3D model, and once complete it was was analyzed for stress & movement based on the ASME codes.
Road improvement project including new sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and water line (replacement of existing infrastructure). Temporary water line constructed to provide interim service. Re-alignment of road profile to improve drivability and visibility. Drop manholes utilized to maintain proper sanitary sewer grade.
