A hearing test should be a part of everyone's overall health and wellness plan. Just like visiting your doctor or dentist, we should also get into a routine of monitoring our hearing health regularly.

Having a hearing test every year is strongly encouraged, especially for those over 55, someone with a family history of hearing loss, folks who work in loud environments or people with medical conditions such as Diabetes, Kidney Disease or Cardiovascular issues. However, as we get older, we naturally become more susceptible to hearing loss because of changes to the structures of our auditory system.
Tinnitus is the perception of sound within the ear(s) or head in the absence of corresponding external sound. Many people describe tinnitus as a buzzing, ringing, or hissing sound that is constant or happens in short spurts. It is a symptom, not a disease, that can result from a wide range of underlying causes, typically related to the auditory system.
If you have ever experienced ringing in your ears you've probably wondered what is it that creates the perception of sound when there is none present. Experts suspect that Tinnitus relates to the brain, and is often associated with changes in our auditory system - like hearing loss. Sound waves travel through the ear canal, to the middle and inner ear.

I went for my ear checkup. The appointment process was pretty straightforward and the Dr. Was very polite and friendly. I was happy with the ear test and the results.

Absolutely appalled but the utter lack of professionalism experienced here. Obviously, hearing aids in North America are extremely expensive in relation to manufacturing costs; see both the CBC and NYTs articles written on this in recent years, but it seems that this local is particularly bad. They will push the most expensive option on you and become hostile and rude when any concerns are raised. My mother who has early signs of dementia has complained about the quality of the product purchased from this place for years, (for $5000 I might add, and which they later admitted to us was included
