A number of years ago, I had similar thoughts. It was during my student years when I was really struggling to make ends meet. I had a document that needed to be notarized but I couldn't find anyone willing to notarize it for a reasonable fee. In fact I thought the fees being charged were far too high for the short time it would take to certify my document.
Please note: fees are determined by how many Notary signatures are required; not by how many documents there are. Where you have an original document and you want the Notary to make a certified copy of the original.
Please note: To be legally valid - if you are photocopying multiple documents onto a single page (for example a passport and a driver's licence), each photocopied image on the page must be separately sealed and certified by the Notary - resulting in a fee for each sealed image.When you photocopy the front and back of a document they are counted as just one certified copy, even if they are on separate pages.

Our office is just across Bathurst Street from the Bathurst Subway Station on the Bloor Line (Bathurst Street Exit). Enter through the main doors at 800 Bathurst, go up to the 4th floor. Toronto Notary Public, Suite 402, will be just across the hall on your left. Our office is wheelchair accessible.
Used where you need to appoint someone else to act on your behalf on matters that you specify. A Continuing Power of Attorney is a special Power of Attorney set up to take care of a person's interests if they become mentally incapacitated. Used to prevent the problems that would occur when your witnesses predecease you, or cannot be located.

Before arriving, we placed 3M “sign here” flags on the document indicating clearly spots to sign. The notary proceeded to sign half of his name on the document and the other half on those flags (on multiple pages!). That says something about the quality of the service. Be sure to check his work before you leave!
We went on a Saturday and the appointment system didn’t seem to mean anything, so budget a bit more time.

The documents I had notarised were unfortunately not signed correctly, and were deemed unacceptable. I did have to go elsewhere, which in the end cost the same amount but I have now paid twice. No staff available to answer phone or email, the only way I could get back in contact was through making another online appointment.
I think there are other services in Toronto, that take the time to carefully review documents and all information provided, that charge similar fees. Appointments here are made every 5 minutes, and it seems that customers are just churned through, with little care for the

Fast, friendly, efficient. Based on the Google reviews, I expected the process to be easy. It was easier than easy. I like the process of online booking and recommendation for what to do before arriving. This was all very helpful. The notary public Jeffrey was friendly, professional and helpful. Rate was reasonable and I felt was good value. Also a very covid-19 safe environment with barrier set up

It seems that Jeffery is One Man Army running the entire show..and he is doing it amazingly well. Prices for notarizing documents is cheapest, online booking system for appointment is convenient, and he completes the task fast. Basically you could be in and out of his office in few minutes. Pain point is parking but still not too bad.

This places saved us! We had an appointment with another place but they cancelled on us last minute.
This place has Great hours, great prices, amazing people!
I don't remember the name of the lady I spoke to on the phone but she was super nice, they were able to accommodate us and help us. I believe Elliot helped us with our paperwork, he was very nice and great to have a conversation with.
We didn't feel uncomfortable at all, very welcoming.

Bureaucracy is a necessary evil, death and taxes and all that ish. Bless places like Toronto Notary Public that make those frustrating paperwork moments as simple as possible.
I called and made an appointment the day before visiting them, and they were incredibly easy to deal with right out of the gate. They sent detailed text reminders with everything I needed to know: appointment time and date, location and the important info that they are cash only. I'll say that again to make your life easier, remember that cash! No cards are accepted.

Appointments can be easily made online and there are clear instructions of how to prepare your documents and of the fees involved (basically $12.95 per signature/seal). They text you the instructions and directions, as well as remind you of your appointment. Office is easy to find.

When it came to deal with legal documents, I was so worried many things including price.
However, this place made me feel that it was not as complicating as I thought. All you need is just go to the website and make an appointment.
Mr. Brown is so nice and the price is the most affordable in the city. It took me only 5 minutes to finish everything, and It's very efficient!

I thought of leaving an additional comment since the last one was from 2014. I just came back from my appointment with Mr. Brown and I don't have enough words to praise for his prompt, affordable and professional services. Specifically I needed a notarized copy of my passport in order to renew my Permanent Resident card. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes! His rates are the most affordable in the city. As he says, WHY PAY MORE?

Quick, affordable, and hastle free. After looking around on google, Mr. Brown seemed to offer the best rates of any other notary in the downtown core. Made an easy phone appointment and within 24 hours I was in the office to get two documents notorized, and was out of the door within 5 minutes. Very friendly and professional. Highly recommended.
