Our story began in 1965, when Lou Bourada made the decision to leave the Ottawa Fire Department and start a swimming pool company. His dream started from humble beginnings on Churchill Avenue, and in 1970, the company moved to a larger location on Woodward Drive. As the business grew, he realized that the next step was constructing his own building.
The present location on Richmond Road opened its doors in 1976, completing his dream. The Burning Log was incorporated in the same building two years later. A quality garden furniture store, Patio Comfort, was added, and has become Ottawa's premier garden furniture store. Current owners Derek and Steve Bourada have taken their father's dream and developed it into the business it is today.

After checking out a few other companies in the Ottawa region I decided to call Poolarama. Steve Bourada dropped by our place and very quickly was able to scan our land and determine the best options for us. Off the top of his head he was able to draw out the dimensions and landscaping suggestions to get the right design. Our project was a large one and I am very picky (he knows this 🙂. Poolarama did some work for us. It was o.k. (new liner and replaced pipes for the pool). After several recalls they got it right: wrinkled liner was almost completely straightened (except in the corners it is still wrinkled), leaks around the skimmer fixed after a couple of tries.
But unfortunately, Steve Bourada, who with his borther Derrick operates Poolarama had also recommended his brother Marc Bourada, who at some point in the past parted his business ways with his brothers and is now going and operating under business names "Outdoor living designs" and "Creative Solutions

I’m a new pool owner and have dealt with Poolarama for my opening/closing. I had a few issues with my pump this year and Ricci has been so patient & helpful at finding a solution. We replaced the liner and reinstalled liner retainer and pool piping with Poolarama this summer. Steve Bourada (owner) is very knowledgeable and provided all advice related to our pool. Poolarama was cooperative and coordinated their work with us as we had big landscaping project going on.
They installed everything but had to come two more times to correct a few errors: replaced skimmer was not properly installed and there was small water leak, and the liner developed wrinkles in the shallow end.
Steve visited personally each time and made sure the problems were corrected. Overall, we would hire

So, at first I was happy with Poolarama, well the contractors were suppose to come out on Saturday to install the pool liner in our pool. We were all ready for them, Friday night at 9:30pm we received a call from their contractors stating they would be there in the morning and wanted to confirm the delivery of the water. We agreed but we were a little confused. I questioned if there would be an extra charge on top of the installation. Well there was a $375 extra charge, I was unaware of this. We had budgeted for a certain amount and didn't want to put in more. I decided to do it myself
