This centre offers a drop-in community setting for adults with a lived experience and is funded via a service purchase agreement with the Interlake-Eastern Regional Health Authority (RHA). During the early years of operation, it was evident that an employment piece was needed. At this point, our Transitional Employment Program (TEP) was created.
The TEP is a skill-building program that is aimed at rebuilding confidence and self-esteem. This is based out of the Selkirk Support Centre and the satellite centres. An opening evaluation is completed with the participant outlining employment skills and goals they wish to achieve. Evaluations are done on a quarterly basis to keep the program focused on the individual's goals.

It was established in September of 1999 and provides a supportive, recovery-based employment program for adult persons with a lived experience. Employees will participate in an intense work training program, which is designed to help individuals overcome the barriers they may experience while actively re-entering the work place.
The Selkirk & Interlake Mental Health Support Centre was founded in 1991 in Selkirk, Manitoba. In the years that followed, we expanded with new centres in the surrounding areas of Interlake and northern Eastman. These drop-in centres provide those in need with education, advocacy and emotional support to facilitate their integration into their communities.
