In 1977, Al and Margaret Waters built a small grocery shop at 4th and Edward, the centre of Revelstoke's "Little Italy." As patrons voiced a desire for a taste of their roots, Southside Market embraced its new role in the community as a specialty Italian grocery. Today, we have the same philosophy of introducing to Revelstoke a taste of home.
In honour of our past (and also because we love prosciutto), we will always bring in Italian specialty goods. But we're also looking to the future and to the rest of the world. If home is where the heart is, then we've left our hearts all over the place! From Greece to Vietnam, we're excited to share our experiences and hope that you will share yours.

I have boycotted everything that supports the Isreali apartheid. So I don't go to the Save on Food in town anymore. I've been more conscious where I'm spending my money. Hence I have switched to buying everything locally. Southside is a locally owned grocery store. And it has a good variety of local products. I have boycotted pepsico and Coca-Cola company. So now I buy Kicking back cola from Western family brand for my pop.

MICHELLE & CHRIS MADE ME LOVE SOUTHSIDE AGAIN! As a lifetime local in Revy, we’ve seen some scary ownership at Southside and really sketchy/expired foods in the aisles or freezer burnt items... but I’ve said time and time again, and finally tracked down Michelle to let her know that they have really turned the place around. Southside has so much to offer and has so many items you can’t get at Save On. The prices are competitive and the cleanliness and service is top notch. Thank you Michelle & Chris for taking Revy’s little market and bringing it’s magic back

It’s refreshing to travel to smaller towns and still see small town like service in a local super market, staff is friendly and helpful, the store is clean and well kept with adequate levels of stock and moderate pricing it not uncommon for supermarkets in in smaller centres to have substantially higher prices than in larger centres, fortunately the prices here are high but not the wholesale gouging from the large chain supermarket down the road, shopping carefully I found some good deals and quality fresh foods. I’d definitely come back just for the ambiance!
