Delton Veterinary Hospital
At Delton Veterinary Hospital, we are happy to provide you with the option to browse and shop for your pet, all from the comfort of your own home! Since 1972, we have been the trusted care providers for the cherished dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, and pocket pets and exotic animals of our community. As a full-service hospital, we are equipped to provide your pet with the medical care they need at all stages of life.

We also value the opportunity to educate pet owners/pet parents, focusing on clear and transparent communication. We take care of your pets as if they are our own. Our team understands that, at times, we are dealing with stressed or frightened animals who require gentle and conscientious care. Our team is also proud to have earned extra certifications for a verified high standard of service.
Services
With recent changes to restrictions on businesses, below are some important updates to our operating policies. This includes vaccines, wellness exams, blood work, heartworm testing, spays and neuters, dental services, and more! Continue our "closed waiting room" policy to protect our clients and staff.
The Delton Team cares about pets and their people. We value the opportunity to educate our pets owners with a focus on clear and transparent communication. We take care of your pets like they are our own and understand that at times, we are dealing with stressed or frightened animals who require gentle, conscientious care.
They may fit in the palm of your hand but pocket-sized pets have huge personalities that make them so easy to love. Despite their miniscule appearance, these creatures still need constant medical care like more traditional pets. Fortunately, here at Delton Veterinary Hospital, we treat pocket pets quite often.
They're beautiful, intelligent and come in a wide variety of breeds. In recent years, winged creatures have become even more popular with families both here and all over the world. Whether you enjoy the snarky commentary from a parrot, or the pretty songs from a canary, there is a bird for all animal lovers out there.
They're cute, fluffy and sweet. It's no surprise that rabbits have been reported as the third-most popular pets to keep in North America after dogs and cats. They make wonderful companions and can spend most of their time indoors, as long as they have a clean and spacious area to live in.

A common misconception with pet parents is that rabbits are "less maintenance" but the truth is, they require just as much (and at times even more) attention than other animals. With the help of our team, you can stay on top of everything you need to know and do to keep your bunny healthy. Call us at (780) 475-9225 for more details on our rabbit services.

Took my bunny here because he had ear infection. We have been treated here for a month and there was NO improvement at all and cost a lot! The doctor told me the infection was NOT caused by bacteria, however my bunny gets better immediately after treated by antibacterial in another hospital. Absolutely overpriced and unprofessional. Not recommend at all.

Took my rabbit in because she was sneezing and was told her teeth were looking overgrown, but it could be potentially fixed with a change in diet. They suggested a follow up, most vets don't change for a follow up appointment, but the instant I came back and the vet started suggesting surgery and pushing for blood work and other tests, I knew there would be a charge for the follow up and I was disappointed....
I already paid over $100 for the first time appointment and then to be told it was another $70 for the follow up....like other reviewers said, it feels like a cash grab....

More expensive than the other places. We dont believe in shopping for the lowest, but we do expect being competitive. Unfortunately we only found out after our last big procedure with Delton. 30 to 35 percent more is significant for surgical procedures. When we started calling Delton for quotes, we noticed a drop in response time. We went to another clinic today, and i stand by my review in terms of competitive pricing.

Tried to diagnose my cats diarrhea issues, their tests showed nothing while another vet tests showed roundworms (Delton supposedly dewormed him in July), a bacterial infection and feline Corona Virus. The medication they sold me before even having done a fecal test, would not work for any of these things...fortunately I couldn't get the liquid form into him and by time they got the right dosage in pill form I had called a new vet who had told me to wait to see what his laboratory fecal pcv test showed. She also checked his teeth and said since he had broken teeth removed at the shelter, they should

All in all I had a good experience coming here. I brought in my budgie, who had developed a case of pododermatitis (bumblefoot). I found all of the staff to be friendly, accommodating, and professional. Dr. Kachur was great - knowledgeable, friendly, and she was able to diagnose the problem and prescribe a treatment that had my bird fixed up in no time.
I gave 4 stars simply because for the first visit, my bird was kept and examined in a separate room, while I was in another exam room, alone. However, I requested to be present for the exam during the follow-up visit, and they were very accommodating

Dr. Sarah was really great and understanding. I appreciate the value of her listening on what was wrong with Cole. I was fairly worried being out of work that treatment and diagnosis would get costly but Dr. Sarah was very mindful of that. Also the lovely girl who helped Cole in the exam room was very sweet.

My hedgehog (sonic) came in with a crooked neck, and the doctors there were so lovely and nice to me! And explained every option there was to have.
Now she's coming home with me with pain meds and antibiotics, and she's in such a good mood!
Thank you Delton veterinary Clinic for taking her in!!

If you need Veterinary services go anywhere but this company. Brought a small budgie in to see if it could be helped, just to get an X-ray I was quoted at $300, to relieve some fluid, vet check and X-ray would be $800. This company doesn’t care about the animal but just their pockets. Unreal. Their reasoning was we just work here and same with the vet

As a first time pet owner I was really anxious about the choices of vets, but I am so happy I chose Delton vet! The for the initial check up the doctor was very informative and answered all my questions about food, insurance, ect, and the front staff were very nice and cleaned up my cat after she peed herself because she was so nervous!! The second time we had to go was for an emergency visit, and although it was costly the vet team brought her in immediately and within 24 hours had a diagnosis and treatment plan. Dr. Person was wonderful and explained everything to me about my cats diagnosis and

I was a big fan of Delton until May of this year (2020). We brought our dog in with a concern of itchiness as well as he had torn some skin off his pads. We were there for approximately 2 hours waiting outside due to this covid stuff. Anyway, Doc calls me and says his pads are fine but his itching most likely is due to "SEASONAL allergies". So he says he is "GIVING" us a few pills to try him on to see if they work and if so then we will have a lengthy discussion of what to do to get him ready for next year. When we picked him up we got told it took so long because he was given

Why is it when a person tries to do the right thing and adopt a rescue puppy, Vets seem to think your wallet is full of cash for them to vacuum out ? Bring in a puppy with diahrrea ( puppy is 8 weeks and hasn't been dewormed) the vet did the exam and stated she wanted to get some fluids into him , and other things. I said ok she then stated she will go get things started. I waited 5 minutes or so and a nurse comes in and starts the sales pitch. The doctor recommends blah blah blah and the proposed bill was over $ 450.00 , when I said sorry I can't afford that I'll have to take him

Took our Kitty here for her first vet checkup with us. All the vet techs and ppl at the desk were friendly and helpful, and the avian vet (dr k) was patient and open about everything, and gave us lots of advice to take the best care of our feathered friend.
the checkup cost $95 and they didn't provide any services that would add to the cost before discussing with us.
would recommend this clinic to any bird parents!!

I have been taking it family pets to Delton for 35 years and had many good things to say until recently. They are less concerned about the animals and the actual care they need and more interested in what meds/procedures will bring in my money. I had a very old dog who had had heart problems her whole life. Right up until her last 6 months when she could barely walk 10 steps without struggling to breathe, the only thing they kept insisting was that her teeth were in need of cleaning and some needed to be extracted. Big bucks, let me tell you. We had these procedures done multiple times on

My fur baby was sneezing and wheezing for about a month and I finally decided to take him to Delton walk in clinic on Saturday. Staff are tremendously friendly and knowledgeable. Its a learning hospital for students. The clinic is very clean and organized. The nurse and Dr. Collis are very concerned and care about your pet. Buddy walked all over the counter and across the the doctors lap top. Excellent care and the student helped me stuff buddy back into his kennel.
I was not wearing my reading glasses when they gave me buddies meds, however when I got home I was not impressed with the infant

I adopted my cockatiel a few months ago and wasn't so sure about the state of his health after a few weeks of caring for him. After doing my research and considering location, I brought my little baby bird (Maru) to Delton after filling out an online appointment request form. They quickly contacted me the next day and fit me in for an appointment at the earliest convenience.

My little bird had a few health complications but Dr Kachur and her staff walked me through all of it, each step of the way. They were so great at communicating openly with me, showing me all the options (and costs) for

My family has been taking our pet to Delton foe almost 20 years. This last week we took our newly adopted dog in for her check up and vaccinations. This proses start to finish took over 2 hours we saw the vet for maybe 10 min and the tech for another 10 min, the rest of the time was just waiting. We went home with de worming medication one does of five ml for three days. When I got to the last does there was barley enough for half the does. Tried to call and ask them what had happened and if it would effect the de worming, they told me that they laeft word for the vet and someone would call me

I have been taking my animals there for nearly 20 years. The vets and the techs are amazing and definitely know there stuff. However I noticed a few things off in the last few visits I have had with them. There prices have skyrocketed. I'm not talking about a $50 raise. My cat unfortunately has some bladder issues and has to have extensive blood work every year. It's use to cost a max of 5o0 but this time around it was 2500 for the same blood work in which we no longer seem to recieve a call for the results anymore. Even if it's good we would like to know. I also feel that they

We have been taking all of our animals, cats and dogs, to Dr. Person for almost 10 years. He is knowledgeable, compassionate, and is terrific at saying I don't know if he doesn't know something, and looking it up and communicating it promptly to us.

He is also very caring with palliative animals, very mindful to keep animals in Comfort vs. Doing unnecessary surgery that may prolong their lives for six months. His values are in sync with ours. I recommend this vet thoroughly.

Yes, Veterinary Care is expensive. We have spent a lot of money there. And we will continue to spend our money

I had gone here for several years... until last month. I've always done what they have recommended for my cat and so after spending around $600 for an exam, lab tests, and prescriptions I got home to discover that one of the "prescriptions" was for Pepsid AC... human Pepsid AC... which they had cut up the foil pack, put 7 tablets in a bottle, and charged me $28 for. A package of 25 tablets sells for $15 at London Drugs. So 7 tablets ought to have cost about $5. A $25 profit on over-the-counter antacids... so I hope the $25 was worth losing a client for.

Dr. Person is an AWESOME avian veterinarian. You can tell that he genuinely loves animals and cares about the welfare of his patients.

My parrot has seen Dr. Person twice now. Both were emergency situations after having already been seen by emergency veterinarians. Our visits to see those emergency vets were a complete waste of time and resources and didn't provide nearly as much information or insight (if any, at all) as Dr. Person did. Each visit has been worth every penny! He managed to squeeze her in the same day for both times that I called in. He is absolutely awesome!

I took my cat in to have him euthanized. He was very near death and they told me there was very little hope for his recovery (2 to 5%) and as I did not have the money to do any more than have him relieved of his pain I requested and signed for this to be done. When I asked to be with him as the shot was administered, I was told it would cost another $160. I couldn't believe that this was the policy of a clinic that I had been taking my animals to for 12 years. The insensitivity was unbelievable! I took my female Russian dwarf hamster there for unexplained bleeding. He told me I was stressing her out and gave us antibiotics. So I gave her stress bacteria? He also said she was bleeding from her rectum. WRONG!!!! I ended up taking her to a exotic vet a week later and she had a ruptured uterus. She was NOT stressed nor did she have an infection. Because it took so long to have a proper diagnosis unfortunately within a month of her 1st visit to Delton she had to be put down. Worst part was Delton cost way more for 1 visit than the 3 subsequent visits to the fancy hammy Doc.
