Silver Maple Campground is a family owned Campground in the town of Nairn Centre, Ontario, Canada. Come to Silver Maple to find a 200 acre mixture of smooth lawn, mature trees and untouched raw wilderness. The campground, originally set-up in 1953, is nestled in a valley sheltered from wind yet bathed in sun all year round.
Family's can enjoy watching their children paddle in the crystal clear waters whist sitting around their fire pit, fishermen and boaters can spend the day on the lake which connects into both the French and Spanish River systems returning for lunch or overnight and leaving their boat moored in the marina.

During the 1800's Silver Maple Campground was a beautiful lakeside spot packed with big old white pine trees. In the late 1800's the land was bought by a logging firm who clear cut the land (they left a couple of very young trees one of these you can now see standing by the office!) When they moved out in the 1920's a Finnish family bought the land and started a small farm, .
We are constantly upgrading and developing the campground so we have many facilities planned as well as the one which we already have. Below are some of the facilities which we currently have. 30 Amp Electrical and Water Service No blowing your breakers when you switch your air con on. Fully Redeveloped Washroom finished to high standard - just because you're camping dosen't mean you have to rough it.
At Silver Maple Campground you can have the best of both worlds - a camp by the lake without having to haul your trailer, set everthing up and then pack everything away at the end of the weekend! Just pull up to your trailer already set up put the coffee pot on, relax and enjoy! All the pleasure with none of the stress!
These are just some of the comments made by campers about Wabagishik Lake. Fishermen come from far and wide to try their luck at catching fish such as Catfish, Pickerel/Walleye, the great Northern Pike, Bass and many, many more. Wabagishik Lake is around 5 miles long and we sit at the top of the lake.
During your stay at Silver Maple take time out to go for a hike or just sit back and relax and enjoy some of the wildlife that you may see. With over 1000 acres of crownland bordering the campground there is everything from Chipmunks to Deer, Squirrels and even the passing Moose! While we don't have a bear problem at Silver Maple we do advise everyone to be 'Bear Aware especially while out hiking.

This campground is awful unless you like to drink and have no kids. The owners do not do a thing and cannot even pickup garbage. It should not be operation. The field bed leaks and the beach is unusable. The owners.will not even cut the grass and the spouses husband is nuts...it looked like a good price until tough they over charged on hydro...the campground needs to be shut down. The campground should and will be reported to the approriate resources and business related bureaus.

I can only speak about this place without swearing now as it has been 4 years! I have done 2 cross canada trips and this is the worst campground i have stayed in, in my life! I should have clued in when we pulled in and parked next to the junked car and 2 gutted trailers... also they only take cash! 4 showers to use bit 3 were boarded up and the 4th was so dirty i wouldn't wash a dog in it. The bathroom indeed was functional, and there were enough mosquitoes there overnight and in the early morning to carry off a small child! We left around 5am the next morning after washing in the sink of the
