The history of the Atlantic Canada Regional Council dates back to 1884 when its first Local was formed in Halifax, Nova Scotia. In 1885, Local 83 received its charter from the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America and since then the UBC has continued to grow in Atlantic Canada.

All Offices and Colleges of the Atlantic Canada Regional Council of Carpenters, Millwrights and Allied Workers will. There is no other trades organization in Atlantic Canada so dedicated to training as the Atlantic Canada Regional Council. Training is the cornerstone of our future. If we are to be competitive, and to increase our market share over time, we must do so with union members who lead their trade in competence and productivity.
The best way to protect jobs and expand opportunities for our partners is to provide the most productive, skilled and safest workers. We believe that our partners must have a competitive edge allowing them to secure contracts and deliver quality work on time and on budget. Our partners require safer worksites with no labour disruptions and where employees complete drug and alcohol testing.
The Atlantic Canada Regional Council of Carpenters, Millwrights and Allied Workers would be honoured to be asked by you and your coworkers to represent you and defend your interests in dealing with your employer. We have people dedicated to helping you make that happen. They are experts in the process of 'organizing' workplaces so that the employee are represented by a professional union.

The Atlantic Canada Regional Council, along with the Carpenters International Training Fund (CITF), is focused on providing training and programs that are relevant to today's construction industry. Some of our programs are led at the UBC's International Training Center (ITC), a world-class training and education facility.
