A specialty grocery & health food store located in the heart of downtown Whitehorse, across from the historic S.S. Klondike. We have continually advanced our inventory of health foods, organic products, locally made & produced items, gluten free & plant based options, and imported foods to better serve our clientele.
Three generations of our family have worked in the store and many of our employees have been with us for more than 10 years. We aim to provide friendly and familiar, personalized service to Whitehorse. We love being a part of Whitehorse's unique community and look forward to many more years of service.

Services
Riverside Grocery has been an independent, family owned and operated business since 1982. We began as Whitehorse's first 24-hour business. We have since evolved, and now strive to provide our community with an array of healthy, sustainable options. In addition to conventional grocery items, we also carry a wide selection of organic, vegan, fair trade, whole food and specialty items.
We work closely with local farmers to provide our customers with fresh, seasonal, local produce. Being a family owned store, we are invested in the local economy and helping local farmers and producers with their endeavors. When we do order our organic produce, we try and source the items from as close as possible.

Context: I did a 6-week campervan trip driving from Nevada to Anchorage and back, and this place really left me an impression.
Did not expect such a charming oasis of upscale organic food options out here in the Yukon. As far as I understand it the prices are pretty steep for the locals, but I was impressed at the diverse selection and sheer quality, which even beats out many options in big cities the likes of Vancouver or even Seattle.
Got some really nice local microgreens, some fresh baked goods, and even a boutique-y matcha-y thing I've not seen outside of Asia. Just having this place

As others have said: lots of unique items and health foods that can't be found anywhere else. Lots of hot sauces, bulk foods, spices etc. Produce is priced higher than the big stores (for the exact same stuff - blue acres, Sarah's from Laberge, field roast brand etc.).
4 stars because I have bought groceries at full price that are past their best before date... the most recent purchase was a bottle of volcanic lemon juice that had a best before date of May 2021 (purchased in Ausgust). While I realize it's not actually bad, I do think there should be a markdown on the price if it's 4 months past

The essential odd-ball variety grocery store. It has much of the things that you traditionally get in chain grocery stores, which is nice to have in any town. The layout of the location is quite unique and it does feel like a bit of a hunt to get what your looking for. While it does have a lot of unique variety, its hours is more what makes it favorable than true diversity of items as it is limited in space.

I lived adjacent to Riverside for 3 years. I used it as a pantry and recall occasions where I visited it 3 times in the course of cooking dinner. The place is awesome - they have everything. Unfortunately, I moved and with the passing years forgot all this. Recently, I wanted to make coque au vin and went looking for pearl onions. Super Store, Extra Foods - none to be found. I recovered my senses and went to Riverside. They had 3 kinds.

Riverside Grocery inspires a sort of awe the first time you enter--the selection of products here is absolutely enormous, and in such a small space. You find as many different varieties on two metres of shelving here as you'd find on a whole aisle of Extra foods. I cannot imagine how many thousands of products they fit into a space smaller than most 7-Elevens I've been in.
That's Riverside's biggest draw--they offer quite a few products you simply cannot find anywhere else in town. Do you want organic soy sauce? Mighty Leaf tea? Maple Hill Farms organic eggs? Saugeen Country

Look up, look way up, that there are snowflakes falling from the sky. The kind where you can actually see each individual particle of ice intersecting and crossing with each other to create a unique star like shape. One of the tiniest wonders in one of the most awe-inspiring regions that I've set foot on.
What does this have to do with Riverside Grocery? This is where I saw my first "real" snowflake ever. (Sure, in Vancouver we have snow, but it's wet and pounds down heavy to the ground where it begins to melt into a raindrop puddle, Meaning, there's never been a chance
