Dr. Riar was born into a farming family in Punjab, India. His lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian doctor came true when he graduated as a veterinarian in 1999 (India). He completed his master's degree in veterinary sciences and decided to start his own small animal practice in India. He moved to Edmonton in 2007 and has been living there with his wonderful wife and two beautiful children.

Do not take your pet here EVER. Very uneducated vet and he is extremely rude. He doesn’t know how to perform even the simplest services such as trimming my dogs nails and ended up making him bleed. Super unprofessional and I would suggest taking your pet anywhere else because anytime I’ve gone it has been terrible. I wish I could give them a zero stars.

Not happy with my experience with this vet. I brought my cat to the vet for 2 issues which they were only focused on one. I mentioned 3 times to the vet about a small scab being under my cats neck which the veterinarian still didn't look. The appointment felt very rushed. I didn't feel like they cared to listen about my concerns. My cat is also extremely nice and gentle. The vet refused go fully look at him and send me home with the medicine to give him saying that 'if the cat does not want you to look or touch, you do not touch the cat" you didn't even try! Wonderful experience. Called Sunday morning because my 15 yr old Aussie was not walking well and loosing balance. They got us in Sunday at 3 and Dr Rian was great! I will take all my animals there from now on. No unnecessary meds prescribed no guilt trip applied. Dr was kind to molly and had us cracking up after the appointment. So refreshing to see a clinic like this.

Before you bring your animals here, make sure they give you all the information you are looking for as far as price goes. Recently had to put down a cat. Verified cost and made an appointment. Brought the animal in, they performed the service and on the way out billed twice what they had quoted. Paid the bill as there was a lot of emotion at that time. After I complained, they told me I could come pick up my dead cat and dispose of in whatever way I wanted to-wow-very heart warming. That is completely un-professional. He takes the time to explain the possible interactions for medication and his patience with scared pets is outstanding.
Prices have been more than reasonable. We shopped around before we went here. Our dog Leia is really in love with the doc and staff.
