Owner Heidi Wilmot-Smith has been the driving force behind LIFEGUARD HOMECARE since incorporation in 2005. After realizing there was a niche for customized personal support services that government-funded options could not provide, we have been filling the gap in homecare service delivery for almost a decade.
LIFEGUARD HOMECARE of Brantford, Ontario, provides caregiver relief to give you the chance to recharge and maintain an overall balance. In some cases, funding referrals can offset all or part of the costs. Many elderly are dealing with Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia. Our staff is highly qualified to provide respite services for a few hours, one day, the weekend, or longer if necessary.

My husband was assessed with dementia. Lifeguard heard my plea for help and sent us the best fit we could have asked for. For example, one morning I had an appointment and he was not having a good day. He was putting his shoes on to "leave town" as I was ready to leave for my appointment. Cindy arrived - on time as usual - and quickly assessed the situation - told me to go. I did, but worried. When I arrived home 2 hours later, they were in the kitchen laughing and having tea. Lifeguard allowed me to keep the same workers as long as they wanted and were able to stay- this gave me consistency in my day to day life. Other companies mandated workers change every 6 months. They allow me to be part of my care plan, hearing me out about what I want and offering additional help and services.
