It was in 1926 that Mrs Fernande Blazecka's (nee Jadot) grandfather, Fernand Platriez established the first greenhouses in Cochrane. The greenhouses were made of glass back then and the seedlings were sold in the quantity that the customer required and wrapped in newspaper to take home. Mr. & Mrs. Platriez both had green thumbs as their vast perennial gardens clearly articulated.
Welcome to the website of Blazecka's Greenhouses Incorporated, a family owned and operated business since 1924. At Blazecka's Greenhouse Nursery, we grow over 100 different annual bedding plants, herbs, and vegetable plants and much more to add life and colour to any garden. For information on specific plants and growing instructions, visit BloomIQ.com.
The best time of year to plant a tree or shrub is in the spring and fall. The air is still cool, and the ground wet from the melting snow and the tree is just coming out of or going into dormancy. Dig a hole about the same size as the pot the tree is potted in or just larger if it is balled and burl aped or in a wire basket.
