Chong Lee Taekwondo
Taekwondo, the Korean art of self-defence, was first introduced to Canada in 1964 by Grand Master Chong Lee, 9th Dan, right here in Montreal. We have students from all of Montreal's area in addition to students coming all the way from Laval and Longueuil. Since then, its popularity has grown steadily and has spread throughout Canada and many other countries.

Since his beginnings, 45 years ago, Grand Master Lee has trained more people in the sport than anyone else in Canada. Taekwondo is not only a martial art but also a well developed and easily accessible sport. Beyond learning self-defence techniques, practicing adults will build, maintain or regain physical fitness by increasing physical ability, flexibility and endurance.
Services
The Chong Lee Mini Junior class introduces kids (from 3 to 5 years old) to the lighter side of Taekwondo, providing an energetic, encouraging and fun-filled environment that teaches kids the basics of the sport. Fostering a friendly and encouraging group atmosphere, the goal of the Mini Junior class is to instill a sense of teamwork and respect.
Offered three times a week, the Chong Lee Junior course starts beginner students (ages 6 to 12) on the traditional Taekwondo belt system. Providing a positive environment free of bullying and negativity, the goal of the Junior Taekwondo class is to foster a highly motivated, disciplined and positive mentality, which students can then transfer into their day-to-day lives and communities.
Beginner and Intermediate Level courses available for teenagers and adults (from 13 and up), the Teens and Adults class provides an enjoyable and positive environment to escape the worries of the outside world and blow off some steam.

For athletes looking to progress to the competitive oplympic side of the martial art, and those who simply want to be the best they can, the Teens and Adults class is a great opportunity to get into shape and develop the self-confidence and self-control needed to lead a successful life and career.
Traditional Taekwondo Poomse courses are based on the traditional set of Taekwondo forms and movements. Poomse involves a variety of movements, including punches, kicks, elbows and knees, which encompass the foundation of the sport. Traditional Taekwondo movements may resemble those used competitively, but they are used primarily as a way of developing mental and physical fortitude.
Incorporating elements of Poomse with regular Taekwondo classes, Chong Lee Family Classes offer students the unique chance to train with their loved ones using traditional forms, drills and techniques. Families can train together in the dojang with an instructor, learning the basics of Taekwondo and togetherness in one class.

Positive:
- The teacher (owner) is good, experienced.
Negative:
- Poor management
- training area not so clean
- not welcoming faces
- Dogs always present
- they oblige u to sign for one year contract and once your kid wants to stop for any reason, they make u pay a fine, that is not mentionned in the contract and as they say its the rules! Plus extra things...
- sometimes too many kids and smells inside trqining room.
-management is money oriented...

The best Tae Kwon Do school in Montreal! I have been there for over 14 years because of its high quality training and excellent masters. Even after the reopening of the school after the pandemic, the school is very clean and safe for trainings.

I signed my 4 year old son here very recently, and I have to say that I love the place! Their enthusiasm, friendliness and dedication towards the kids are amazing. I love people who are respectful, and they are the definition and advocates of that. Definitely recommend it!

Chong Lee Taekwondo is the first and the best school in Canada! Grand Master Evangelos Lygeros has taken the school to the top following the footprints of his father in law Grand Master Chong Lee. It’s definitely the school for you wether you want to be a champion or enjoy the greatest martial art and sport! Highly recommended for all ages.

I registered my 4 yr-old for Saturday morning classes. Things are fine except for two major issues : 1) the noise level in the visitors' area is unnaceptable - a friendly sign or an employee should remind people to speak in a low voice. 2) The school allows too many children in this class and, despite bringing many extra teachers to help, the kids wait so long between exercises that they lose interest, get bored. Not the quality I was expecting for a 500$/year class.

This is quite frankly the best Tae Kwon Do school in Montreal. It's an hour away from my house but even if it was 2 hours, I would still go.
The instructors are highly qualified and are full of energy and passion. They not only work on the physical aspects of the sport, they also address the mental, which is most important.
My daughter started off at another school but now she has found her Tae Kwon Do home :)
