I used Capitol Taxi after completing therapy for my brain injury & was travelling home, app. a 50 minute. I had a gut feeling that it wasn't going to be a relaxing & comfortable ride after the driver stopped by the side of the road and had me pay for the trip while only minutes away from the therapy clinic! There was also issues with the payment machine, which the driver kept opening & removing the battery & then placing it back in. I used my credit card to pay the expensive fee & handed the driver the machine when my card was approved. It showed a yellow smiley face & the automated voice told

The absolute rudest person answered me, gave me attitude for absolutely no reason when I tried to give my address, saying "no no no, that's NOT how it works here. Whats your address?" in the most condescending tone and wouldn't stop interrupting me when I tried to correct myself. I've waited over 45 minutes for someone to answer me and this is how I was greeted? not impressed. people say this company is better than call a cab, it's just as bad, if not worse

An elderly relative in a wheel chair needed a transfer home from the hospital in Campbellford on a Friday evening back to his nursing home in Marmora. He had been taken to hospital by ambulance for a non-urgent matter and the ambulance would not return him. We spent hours on the phone contacting transfer services and other taxi services in the Belleville area. The transfer services wouldn’t do the transfer on the weekend and the other cab companies couldn’t/wouldn’t help us. Our relative ended up spending the night in the emergency dept. I got a cab through them. It’s been 40 minutes about to be 50 minutes the gentalman confirmed if I was going to Fleming. Than after I got in the car he said “oh are you going to campbellford?”
No. So I had to get back out of the vehicle and now proceeding to wait im guessing for him to get back from campbellford after needing pick up from the hospital to the college. Don’t bother

"Always available 24 hours a day" is not at all what this company is about. They pick and choose when they want to answer the phone, and sometimes their drivers never even come! DO NOT CALL OVERNIGHT! They will not answer you. Everyone should switch to Y-Drive PTBO. Their prices are not at all expensive like Capitol Taxi! A $20 ride with the the taxi will cost less than $10 with Y-Drive, and their service is far better! They are friendly drivers who get you to your destination quickly, not drivers who take every side street to make a few extra bucks.

I’ve used both cab companies here in Peterborough Ontario… and capital taxi is by far! The best and most professional plus they have some pretty awesome drivers too!
Capital made it easy for me as a single mom of 4 to make it too all my destinations without “robbing” from my pocket! I’ll forever highly recommend and use capitol taxi!

The people answering the phones need to be better and more professional. If it's going to be a 45 minute wait (seems rediculous, but ok) say so, that way people are expecting that instead of waiting 45 minutes just to call back wondering if they were coming just to be angrily told "there are 4 others ahead of you". At least they do answer the phone, which is certainly a step up from their main competition, but this just reminds me how horrible the cab situation in Peterborough is. Called a taxi to make a simple pick up and return. What I was greated with since I could not pronounce the street name correctly (I am new to the area) was "so how many drinks have you had tonight" and when the pickup never should so I asked to just be returned a barrage of personal very necessary questions in to my personal business has ne seriously guessing whether or not to use this business again.
