We had to take our dog Piper in for a neurology consult that we knew would probably end up with surgery for IVDD. Dr Schneider and his team took amazing care of her and stayed in constant communication throughout the entire process. Every single person we talked to at the clinic was so friendly, kind and transparent. We are beyond grateful for everybody working here. Piper is no longer in pain and is recovering well. Piper says Thank you Dr Schneider and Toronto VEC!

Brought my 2.5 year old pup in to the emergency clinic for hemorrhagic gastroenteritis (vomiting and excreting large amounts of blood). We were pleased to receive two daily updates from his doctor(s) plus updates whenever we called to check on him. The doctors were honest and upfront about the risks of treatment provided numerous options regarding his care. It is expensive, but you get what you pay for. We would certainly bring our pup back to the VEC if he requires emergency / specialty care in the future. Thank you to the VEC team!

Dr Dheendsa showed genuine concern for our cat, and gave an extremely thorough consultation. We felt as if we were talking to our own personal vet.
Definitely helped us through a scary night when I was worried it would be a cold, clinical interaction.
Also, not nearly as pricey as we had anticipated (emergency examination plus some pain meds is all).

Positive: Professionalism
They seem to be really caring for the animals. My cat swallowed a long balloon string, and they were able to safely remove it before far too late. They guided me through the whole process. Pricy, but my kitty recovered very quickly. I'm grateful for their work.

We highly recommend avoiding this clinic both for emergency services and for specialist service. This clinic does NOT practice the standard of care. We brought our very sick dog here during a medical emergency, and were mortified by his care and treatment.
We had called them twice on the way over, so they knew we were on the way, and they knew when we were arriving. We had to wait outside for a phone call due to COVID. After a 20 minute delay, we receive their call: they said that before anyone looks at him, they need a deposit. We were shocked--we brought our dog in for EMERGENCY care, and expected

I'm so grateful to VEC for the care and service they provided to my pup when he really needed it. I was looking at several hours of wait time at other clinics after my pup had swallowed one of his toys. VEC was willing to see him right away and I so appreciated that. The staff and doctors were so responsive and helpful. I can't thank them enough. I would definitely recommend them and would take my pup back there again if I needed urgent care.

Extremely disorganized. Make sure you have Everything in writing. My dog was scheduled for an eye surgery, they delayed it and admin put a note in the system that I declined earlier surgery date. I never declined any dates nor did I

In March 2021, the clinic saved my dog's life. In December, he was let down. I have faith in the doctors there. The staff, not so much this time around. They left us in pain and doubting the VEC.
Here are two terrible examples from his latest stay. (There are more.):
We live in Niagara, so we asked a number of times for them to Facetime with us while our 12-year-old Siberian husky was there for tests. Oh yeah, we will and can do that, my wife and I were told. Never happened. Even at promised times. It's 5 minutes of their time. Things are tough and you are busy and Covid lurks. But you stick

My little Yorkie has dry eye and multiple other issues with autoimmune issues. She was referred to Dr. Heather Gray who is an eye specialist. I handed her off at the office door and received a call from the doctor about 45 minutes later explain what medication she would be on, and gave me tips on how to use it properly so that it provided that best outcome. Surgery was discussed, but that was perhaps in her future. Dr. Gray was very conscientious and explained everything so well. I picked our Rosie at the door and we have spent the last two months using her drops and her eyes look better, she has

They are highly trained and experienced veterinary professionals. They literally saved my best friend’s life with the removal of a cancerous mass.
They were efficient, compassionate and very communicative. They followed up with us at every step. I can’t say enough good things about the facility and the most excellent doctors, surgeons and medical support staff.
Highly recommended of course

I had a horrible experience with this hospital. They were rude, insensitive to both my cats needs and mine, seemed to care more about the money that could be made than my very sick bengal. I spent a lot of money on three visits and he died in my arms at home the day after his last visit.
I would not recommend this place. We stood outside in below freezing for hours and they did not want to take my poor cat inside where it was warm. Left us both outside in a line up. I finally just walked right in and left him in their reception room in his carrier. Probably made him sicker than he already

Avoid this place that has Vets that are cruel, rude and dismissive.

Dr Mason has the worst bed side manner and will make you feel small and stupid. He doesn't like answering questions because he is above everyone else. How dare anyone ask
Him a question?

What a scam.

I purchased a prescription for 100 pills from a people pharmacy for $55. I had to pick up the same prescription from VEC for 65 pills at the cost of $93.

What an unecessary markup. I really dont like this place.

The vet was extremely rude on the phone. I told her my puppy was attacked by another dog. She said it would cost 1200$ as my puppy was too aggressive. She later told me that what I had let her know happened to my dog was not the case and she argued with me that it was something else. People like this should not be in charge of taking cate of animals especially if they simply want to take advantage. From this it is obvious this place does not care about animals and only cares about money.

VEC on Yonge is a shameless money making machine at the expense of your pet's life. They take full advantage of you. Money aside, the business process is organized in a way that there is never an assigned doctor to your pet. Every day their shifts change (doctors, nurses, technicians). Your pet is not supervised by any doctor in particular for longer than 12 hours.
My dog was grossly misdiagnosed at first by Dr. Rajdeep Multani on Feb 1st, 2020 (she had a full obstruction in her intestinal tract, but was treated for gastroenteritis for the first FOUR days!). And then (four days later!!!)

These people are crooks!!!! If you can avoid it at all please do. My god ... they are a complete joke. Rude- incompetent and just an absolute nightmare anytime I have been forced to go here- today was a referral from my doctor to see dr. Mason they changed without my consent to see dr foster/ after waiting over a week. She has about as much insight as a rock. Brutal..

Off to see another vet after 1200 dollars of blood and urine tests.

Update:

Adding on my dog saw another vet on yonge and st.clair and he just had a skin infection and already after a week of antibiotics he feels much better.

Our dog broke his leg in October while we were out of town. Two days later, we were able to get him an appointment with the VEC. At the appointment, we re-confirmed the break and scheduled his surgery at a cost of roughly $7200.
Dr. Ringwood performed the surgery. Our dog's bones were reconnected using a small metal plate. He wore a soft upper body cast that kept his leg perfectly still. He could barely walk or sleep. We took him in for weekly dressing changes and, each time, his new cast was shaped differently and he'd have to try and get used to it all over again.

3rd vet in 5 days. I couldn't get to my regular vet office, so I tried to get the best care I could under the circumstances.

Twice the cost of the two previous vets combined. Still don't have a diagnosis for my cat. Dr. was not truthful about costs of tests either. Under sold the prices. Tried to sell unnecessary tests as well. Suggesting a kidney biopsy before even getting a blood test. Who would do that? Does that even sound reasonable? I declined the biopsy.

The vet intern also took down incorrect information. It seems the vet was unaware that my cat hadn't eaten in almost
