At Westshore Dance Studios (WDS), our goal is to provide training and development for all who have a desire to dance. As a professional dance school, Westshore Dance Studios offers quality instruction to students of varying ages and ability in a friendly and respectful environment.
We offer diversity in dance styles, and provide examinations in the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) for ballet, and the Association of International Dance Teachers (AIDT) for modern jazz and tap.Students have opportunities to perform in our annual recital and local festivals to demonstrate their dance knowledge, skill, and artistic expression.

Services
Ballet is the foundation for all forms of dance because it allows opportunities for students to develop grace, poise, and musicality. The Royal Academy of Dance syllabus is used as the basis for all classes. RAD provides professional instruction focusing on classical, free movement, and character styles.
Tap classes are based on the Association of International Dance Teachers syllabus. Founded in South Africa, the emphasis of this syllabus is on timing, rhythm and musicality. Students are placed according to age and ability. Opportunities to participate in formal exams are at the discretion of the teacher.
WDS is proud to be registered with the Royal Academy of Dance (R.A.D. ballet) and the Association of International Dance Teachers (A.I.D.T. modern jazz and tap). Both associations offer accredited examination programs. We encourage dancers to begin the examination process as soon as our instructors believe the student is ready.
Now that I am in my thirteenth year of dancing at Westshore Dance Studios, I can honestly say I cannot think of myself doing anything better with my life. The fact that I am still dancing with the same girls I danced with at five years old truly shows the amount of community that surrounds this school.
Janine's dance training began at age three with RAD ballet and also AIDT modern and tap. She later branched out into jazz, hip hop and musical theatre. After going through the examination process she became eligible to begin the teaching programs in ballet, modern and tap, and now has her Associate in Modern and Full Advanced Associate in Tap.

My daughter grew up dancing with Westshore Dance Studios and always considered it her second home and second family. I am very appreciative of the excellent dance training my daughter received at Westshore Dance along with the positive influence the studio had on her upbringing. I would recommend WSD to any prospective dancer.

My daughter went to this dance studio and unfortunately did not receive quality instruction for the 6 months she attended prior to Covid. The 45 minute classes she attended were supposed to be 45 minutes of instruction (ballet and modern) however much of the time was spent checking in with fellow dancers and discussing how their day/week was rather than dancing. It seemed that socializing and telling stories was a big part of each class and only about 15 minutes were actually spent dancing. Very disappointing for my daughter who was eager to learn! We will not be returning to this dance school

My family has been part of Westshore Dance Studio since it’s inception, involving both learning and teaching dance. Westshore Dance Studio is a community of dancers and families that work hard together and have so much fun! The studio has been such a positive influence for so many. I would certainly recommend this school to anyone interested in dance!

Westshore Dance Studios have been a big part of my families life for the last 8 years. My daughter started taking two classes the first year and just wanted to do more and more styles of dance based on her positive experiences there. The teachers are incredibly knowledgeable and supportive. Every spring they put on an incredible recital!
Every year I am impressed by how much thought they put into the class schedule as they try to make it work best for families.
I can’t wait for another year at WDS!

I can't say enough great things about this studio! I danced here for nearly 20 years, and can safely say that I was at the studio more than I was at my own house! I was able to receive credits towards high school graduation for the examinations I completed here. I was also able to obtain my certification to teach in both Modern and Tap Dance thanks to the wonderful teachers at this school. If you want a dance school that actually cares about your kids (both their dance life and what they might be dealing with at home/school, etc.) look no further than Westshore Dance Studios! Excellent productions

I’ve been lucky enough to call Westshore dance studios my second home for 13 years. It has brought so much joy and growth into my life. It is a very safe and friendly environment where anyone is welcome to come and dance. I’m so glad I’ve gotten the opportunity to dance with such amazing girls and be taught by teachers that care about you personally and your dancing. Thank you so much Westshore!

My girls have been dancing at Westshore for over 16 years, we live downtown now but still continue to commute because of their love for the studio and the teachers. This studio is like their second home and they have been fortunate to learn all the dance styles offered by the studio. The studio even put on a year end recital with COVID 19 so a DVD could be recorded for the parents as nobody was able to watch due the numbers of dancers participating and 50 person max rule. Well done Westshore Dance - looking forward to many more years with my girls dancing.

I grew up at Westshore Dance Studios, and I can safely say that the life lessons and character building I gained through this school has been an invaluable asset in my success as an adult. Team work, learning to embrace criticism, respect for others, and how to achieve my goals were all things that were taught to me during my time with WDS. The instructors and fellow dancers became my second family, and I know that I will have lifelong connections and friendships due to the efforts put in by the instructors to make the studio a safe and positive environment.
