Services
LCNS is a non-profit parent-led organization with charitable status. The nursery school is licensed yearly by the Ontario Ministry of Education under the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA) and our emergent curriculum follows the guidelines of the Ministry. Lakeshore Co-operative Nursery School (LCNS) was first established in 1978.
Our large, clean and bright classroom was recently renovated in 2012 using grants provided by the Region of Waterloo. It features a number of activity centres, including dramatic play, block play, arts and crafts, quiet reading, sensory, snack area, and many natural components. Outdoor play is included each day, weather permitting.
As part of a Co-operative Preschool, how will I be participating? At LCNS we encourage active participation in what may be your child's first education experience! Parents are asked to volunteer in the classroom, assist with cleaning our school, and serve on the Board or a Committee. However, some families some years are not able to be as active in the volunteer work that runs our school.
Fall Kernels Campaign will run September-October with orders arriving in time for Halloween. Holiday Purdy's Campaign will run November to December with orders arriving before Winter break. If you are interested in placing an order but aren't connected through a family at the school, please reach out to lakeshorenursery.fundraising@gmail.com.
