St. George's Tennis Club is a community-driven tennis club located in Central Dartmouth, with exceptional HarTru courts and a friendly and vibrant membership. Our seasonal facility offers a selection of tennis activities including lessons, social events, weekend tournaments, and casual play from May to October (weather permitting).

The Pandemic Phase 5 of our province's reopening plan is now in effect-and with it comes new expectations and regulations. While there may be only weeks left in our tennis season, St. George's is OBLIGATED to respect and enforce these new procedures.

Services
St. George's is one of the oldest tennis clubs in Canada, founded on St. George's Day in 1885. Naming the club after the patron Saint of England reflects the strong cultural links between Dartmouth and England at that time. The history of St. George's is the story of tennis, a game that arrived from England in the 1870s sparking a tennis boom across North America.
Our tennis club is nestled within a Central Dartmouth neighbourhood, specifically on St. George's Lane. We've been a local institution since 1885 and have featured grass courts, clay courts, and hard courts over the years. We now feature five Hydro Har-Tru courts-a clay surface which is excellent for children to develop skills on, makes for long rallies and good workouts, and is easy on your joints.
BACK-TO-BACK bookings are NOT PERMITTED. Please leave at least 60 minutes between your court bookings, whether you are the primary member making the reservation OR the playing partner with someone else. You are limited to 2 HOURS of court bookings per day. Note: if another member uses your name to book a court (as a playing partner), this will count towards your booking limit for the day.
Founded in 1885, St. George's Lawn Tennis Club is a community-focused, not-for-profit organization located in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada. We are devoted to providing a fun, friendly, social environment where new members, long-time members, individuals, couples and families can play, learn, compete and grow with the game of tennis.
A Tennis Professional with Peter Burwash International (PBI) since 2001, Roger Cochrane's work with PBI includes locations: Mexico, The Bahamas, China, The West Indies, Thailand, Japan, and Bahrain. Roger has experience as a team member opening a five-star resort property, as a coach in Hong Kong's most extensive Junior Program, and coaching Thailand's top-ranked ITF/ATP player.
