I always have a great experience going to Spadina Animal Hospital, with both my dog and now my new kitten. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeble, and the doctors are very attentive. They were also available on a short notice when my dog ate something off the garbage and we were very worried! Thank you again!

Dr. Julian is attentive, knowledgeable and caring towards my dogs. I have been going to this animal hospital for several years and appreciate the service received on the phone (including responsiveness to voicemails) as well as the ability to book same day appointments in critical situations. Dr. Julian provides thorough and clear information regarding the dogs' health as well as adequate advice on treatment options. It's apparent that the doctor is considerate and mindful of unique health issues with different dog breeds and continues to learn about breed nuances. The staff are generally friendly

We first brought our puppy here for a health check, as it was our new puppy. After dropping off the dog for about 10 min, we got a call back to tell us that everything is fine and dog is in great condition. They also told us that we needed 2 additional vaccines for the dog, which we agreed paid without issue. A few days later it turned out that our puppy had an ear infection in which they did not determine during the health check. As this was the closest vet in the area for us, we went in a second time when our dog started having diarrhea. This experience was appalling because in addition to a

My dog Milo needs to do teeth cleaning. So I took him to Spadina Animal Hospital. We've been here many times. Even though it is a bit far from my home, I am still willing to take my dog there. Because from the nurses to the vets, they are so wonderful. Very kind and professional, especially, they are super productive! If you love your pets, you should come here.

They are not very thorough with their exams. I brought one of my dogs in 3x in the last year and half for an exam. No one diagnosed his luxating patella. And my issue with him chewing his paw was not solved. They just said nothing can be done, nothing is wrong, I can try a temporary anti itch cream...that's it. I also had a fecal test for bloody stool, and basically in the end nothing was diagnosed either. It always seems to be the issue there. You walk out with your same issues and no answers or ways to solve it. I went to another vet and got everything solved in just one visit.
But given everything

We had an awesome experience getting our dog Inti fixed there this week. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, and provide very simple and clear breakdowns of all costs, as well as after surgery instructions.

Highly recommend to anyone looking for a great Animal Hospital in the downtown core.

I am very impressed with the genuine care and interest that dr. Julian has shown for my kitty Shadow. He came very sick, not eating after having spent 2 weeks being misdiagnosed at a different hospital. Several hours after coming in, we had the diagnosis - FIP. Since then dr. Julian and the staff have been simply amazing. Recommending treatment options and helping me along the way. If I ever have any issues with my pets, I am definitely coming here!

Vet here said my kitten may have a heart murmur and needed a $600 ultrasound. We went back to the breeder and her vet and he said there was no murmur. We went to another Toronto vet and she said he had no murmur. Years later, he is still healthy and no murmur or any other condition. It seems like we were being scammed by this clinic or the vet was outright terrible. In either case, we highly recommend avoiding this clinic.

Spadina Animal Hospital were vital when brining our dog Mary from Canada to Portugal on vacation. I would recommend coming here for all your pets needs. They were so accommodating for us and were totally reliable during a time sensitive, stressful time. All the staff offer great service and I'm looking forward to seeing them again soon

Would not recommend. Other places in Downtown Toronto are much better. I would recommend any other clinic before checking this out. It is in a prime location so it's convenient, but would you choose convenience over your pet's care? I would not like to mention my experience because it might have been bad just because of a misunderstanding on both ends; but I will highly recommend any other clinic in Downtown Toronto.

Very disappointing. Went there few times. I'm not sure if the doctor have changed but seems like a current doctor is focusing only on prescribing medicine. Also he is making diagnosis only from my words without any tests. After giving my dog their medicine for 10 days and didn't see any result I went to another pet clinic, who diagnosed totally different decease. ...
How they be so careless to pets???

I've really gotten fed up with this vet even with the new owner. Maybe this office is cursed but over 15 years I've never been seen with less than a 45 minute wait and never with an explanation or courteous apology. Instead they stand around gabbing in front of you with others and obviously don't take the appointment time seriously and wait until you are ready to give up and take your animal home before seeing you. I've brought both cats and dogs there and have never been impressed with the service. My cat died under their care and I'm pretty sure it's because they

We've been taking our dog here since he was a puppy (now 8 years old!) And the care has never faltered! The staff take our concerns seriously and always give us multiple options on how to proceed. He's had 3 surgeries on site and also had acupuncture done for his legs/back issues! I highly recommend this hospital!

The hospital front desk staff was not the most informative and this made me a bit nervous but when I met with the vet, she was VERY well informed and also, she did not try to push unnecessary items on us. She took time with us and made sure our dog was happy and comfortable. She also provided some information via email for us to review and she made a follow up. I think the front staff needs to be a bit better educated in the world of dog owners in Toronto and animals in general but, the vet staff made up for that!

I will be back

This used to be my go to vet because I lived very close by. I've had average experiences here with long waits, but after the most recent incident, I changed vets.

When my cat got a UTI, I made an appointment to be seen. They said they had 2,2:30, and 3:00 available. I chose 2 because I had a dinner meeting.

They ended up making me wait in there for 2 hours even though I made an appointment. I wish they gave me an explanation but I was hardly offered one, except that they were really busy. It sounded like the staff was having a swell time outside (heard giggles & laughter outside the

We've been taking our cat Riley to Spadina Animal Hospital for the past 5 or 6 years. We've never had any kind of issues (unlike other reviewers), but the service has notably improved since Dr. Julian took over. He is incredibly friendly and genuinely caring. Riley hates being put in her carrier and going to the vet, but somehow he is able to calm her down enough that we can even clip her nails!

Dr Julian is great! I've been taking my basset Chief to him for about 3 years now and it's been an awesome experience. The facilities are clean and the prices are on par with other vets in the city. I never feel pressured to get unnecessary work done, which is definitely something I was looking for after a bad experience with our precious vet. Highly recommended!!

I've been coming here for a couple years, and I'm very grateful to have SAH as my local vet clinic. Always been good - but since Dr Julian took over its been fantastic. He's an honest, caring and super helpful vet. He keeps me informed on how to keep my dog healthy, checks in with me by email or phone and genuinely is a top notch vet. My dog likes him too.

I would recommend him to anyone.

All past negative reviews should be ignored--the new owner and vet Tim is awesome!!
I took my doggy in last minute after the Harbourfront vet screwed up my appointment. The SAH took me in immediately, the front reception was very welcoming and friendly as I entered and as I left, and the appointment didn't last long at all. Tim was very thorough with my dog, his quote for dental (as my dog is now 8) was actually $200 cheaper than what I got from Harbourfront, and the cost for his annual shots and check-up was right on par.
I'd recommend this place to anyone with a pet in the area. Give

My cat was a rescue and was unsure of his past. After having him for a while I noticed his mouth was just not right...his breath was horrible, teeth were grey, gums were red/receding, plaque and not chewing his food (kind of like an abused human mouth as well). I took him in knowing this was not going to be fun or cheap.
The staff was really friendly and good with the animals I saw there. I got an appointment right when I wanted one.
An inital visit involved blood work, exam and medicine. I left with an appointment booked to bring Jr (the cat) back in for a 'scaling' and extraction visit

This is our vet for our 2 1/2 year old dog. They have changed up their staff a few different times within this period which isn't a great sign to me. I also suspect that they might be nickle and diming us city folks. This is apparently quite common. We were quoted here $500 for neutering and got it done for $300 in Mississauga. We'll probably start looking for a new vet soon - this location is convenient for us but there has to be better and cheaper out there. Spent $464 on his annual checkup a couple of weeks ago. Nothing wrong with him, all of that just for 2 vaccines and heartworm

We took our Labrador Retriever to this vet as it was the closest to us at the time when we were living in the neighbourhood. They definitely try to nickel-and-dime you when you go there. They require a fecal sample every time you visit. And then charge you for the fecal sample tests. They proceeded to send a number of tests to the lab but never fix the issue. Doing the tests ran the bill up very quickly.

One time we were getting his vaccines up to date. We were sure that he needed one but they insisted that his previous one was good for rabies. I asked several times during the visit. Turned out
