The history of RYK PHOTO and DESIGN starts with Ryk Narell attending three different colleges and universities dealing with photography and creative thinking. At that time there were no digital cameras so one had to be quick and accurate with their shots to avoid the costly film and darkroom time to process it - if it didn't turn out.
This led to a discipline that was held by only the Top Guns of the time. They had no computers, no camera back previews of their shots and no YouTube to figure things out. What they did have was a very happy clientele offering paychecks to the photographers who got it right consistently. Ryk Narell was one of those.

Professional photography is 10% formal training, 30% skill and 60% raw guts, talent and instinct. Ryk ( pronounced Rick) started in the lithography, or 4 colour printing industry then decided to get into the professional photography and graphics business. He started at Seneca then quickly moved up to Ryerson then U of T.
As a fashion photographer whose pictures are published in Vogue and Flare, Ryk presents a new exciting version of yourself which you have probably never seen before. Coming from the commercial world one quickly learns that there are no second chances - no excuses. You overcome the challenges and get the shot or you don't get paid.
