To access any of our programs or services you must first sign up for an intake appointment. The eight pointed stars represent all eight districts of Mi'kmaq people. It's also used as a cultural symbol and design emblem. For hundreds of years, the Mi'kmaq have been using the eight pointed star as a symbol of our nation.

In 1993, Premier John Savage and Mi'kmaw Grand Chief Ben Sylliboy declared October as the official month to recognize and celebrate Mi'kmaq culture and heritage. This year, we reflect on the theme treaty, chosen by. The news from Afghanistan is heartbreaking.
Services
We want to acknowledge that we are on unceded traditional Mi'kmaq territory and we are grateful for the Peace and Friendship treaties. At ISANS, as we work to settle newcomers to Nova Scotia, we honour and respect the Indigenous people of this land. ISANS recognizes the key role of immigrants in Canadian society.
We currently have over 260 employees with a wide variety of qualifications, skills and experience. Our diverse workforce includes employees from over 46 different countries, speaking more than 60 different languages.

ISANS Settlement Services work with you to identify your settlement goals, and help you use your strengths and resources to determine your settlement needs. To access our Settlement Services you must first go through intake and register as an ISANS client - contact us to register! We provide support for Temporary Foreign Workers and their families.
ISANS offers many different English classes for immigrants in Nova Scotia. We offer language skills classes for everyday living in the community and for immigrants who are looking for work, currently working, planning to start a business or currently running their own business. Classes are in-person, online or in the workplace.

You really need to have a bigger heart to embrace an outsider who would pray on your resources. Knowing the fact, those outsiders may not appreciate your culture and contaminate it with their own believes and practices.
You really do need to have a bigger heart to share your home with some unknown! "ISANS is one such place"
I have not traveled the whole world yet, but can very confidently say that the Canadians have one of the most beautiful hearts in the whole world and there is a lot to learn from these people.
We all should feel obligated to the fact that the safe shelter which our motherland

If you are a new immigrants to Nova Scotia, this is the place to visit. All services are free for new immigrants and include settlement support, employment support, community supports, language and computer training, industry specific training, business setup support, and lots more. Please note you have to be an immigrant and can't be someone on a visitors visa or an international student.
