Partners In Rehab

Partners In Rehab was established by occupational therapists, Brian and Karen Pontello with a vision to create a multi-discipline therapy company to meet the increased demands of community and in home therapy needs. Services were provided to the Home Care Program to include both adult and school based services.

Partners In Rehab is a multidiscipline therapy company that has been providing occupational therapy, physiotherapy and speech language pathology assessments and services to clients in the Thunder Bay area and district since 1992.

In response to growing need, we have progressively expanded our services to include balance and dizziness program, vocational rehabilitation services, case management services, social work, psychotherapy, kinesiology and life care planning.

Occupational Therapy is a health profession concerned with promoting health and well-being through occupation. Occupation refers to everything people do to occupy themselves through the course of life, including self care, leisure, and employment activities. The primary goal of occupational therapy is to enable people to participate in the "occupations" that give meaning and purpose to their lives, and to address obstacles to this participation.

To assist in ensuring that all services/therapies are offered in a comprehensive, timely and cost effective manner, highly qualified Rehabilitation Support Staff may assist in the completion of therapeutic interventions with clients, under the supervision of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists or Speech Language Pathologists.

Case Management is defined by the Case Management Society of America as a collaborative process of assessment, planning, facilitation, care coordination, evaluation, and advocacy for options and services to meet an individual's and family's comprehensive health needs through communication and available resources to promote quality, cost-effective outcomes.
