By roasting only certified fair trade and organic beans, we aim to lift your day and honour the farmers that grow our beans. SISSIBOO COFFEE ROASTER Ltd. is a micro roaster offering certified fairtrade, organic coffee beans to both retail and wholesale markets. Each bag is stamped with the date of roast.
We rely on instinct and observation of smells, sounds and appearance, not instrumentation, to produce each roast. Using a variety of beans with differing characteristics we create single origin coffee with rich, distinctive flavours. About ten years ago I had a chance to have a mug of Jamaican Blue Mountain.

After much insistence from loyal fans, who sought a daily fix of Sissiboo not just a cup at the weekly market, we opened our first brick and mortar at 262 St. George St, Annapolis Royal in July of 2014. The clean, bright space offers a stunning view of the basin.
Our excellent staff will prepare your beverage just how you like; on offer are specialty drinks, local Ingles Farm Cider, treats from Oak Haven Bakery, Guy and Marie's French Bakery and more.

Sissiboo Coffee Roaster Coffee Bar and Gallery is located at 1890 Clementsvale Road, downtown in the charming and historic village of Bear River. This space features fine espressos, coffee and tea, Italian sodas, local apple cider and more plus house-baked treats and a rotating gallery of local artists.
Sissiboo Coffee Bar and Gallery is seeking exhibit proposals from individual artists living in the SouthWest NS region for our cafes located in Bear River and Annapolis Royal. Sissiboo Coffee Roaster is committed to roasting fairly traded and organic beans, and offering exceptional espresso and more from two inspiring, atmospheric cafes, both located in communities that appreciate and offer support of the arts.
We thought long and hard about who would supply coffee to Rose & Rooster Bakery. We wanted to serve great coffee, roasted locally with consideration to where those beans came from and how they were farmed. We were also looking for a small, passionate, local business (like ours) that was working to build community in rural Nova Scotia (like us) and we found all this, and more, in Sissiboo.

I expected more after reading the other reviews on here about how friendly the service is at this coffee shop. I walked in 8 AM on a Monday morning and I was the only one in the place. A woman emerged from the back of the shop and probably said two words to me my entire transaction- "Yes" and the amount due. She didn't even smile. I bought a chocolate croissant and it was too stale to eat. I threw in the trash after one bite. The coffee was fantastic but the service and food was not.

First of all best "London fog" I have ever had in my life. Thank god I don't live down here I would be there everyday. Also to the Gentlemen working, I love you. Thank you for holding my baby while I got all my coffee ready. You truly are a beautiful human. I highly recommend the brownie as well, I'll be dreaming about that tonight.

Stopped in on opening day to sample the offerings. While long time fans of their fair-trade organic coffee (even me,who is of the opinion that coffee smells better than it tastes) now we can take advantage of their new location and have someone else brew it for us. He went for his usual the Glacial Erratic (which is a medium roast) while I tried a Chai Latte. I thoroughly enjoyed it and will be back again. Maybe take advantage of their new seating area and drink it there.

Hm, not sure why there's no location for their coffee shop in Annapolis royal, but I'll just review their coffee.
Tried double shot of the fireman's breakfast. Really strong taste and a different than most others espresso roasts. Definitely's got a kick.
I'll try making some at home and see the difference.
Their variety seems good. It's organic and fair trade. If you ever pass by give it a try. Won't regret it!

Between August 28-31 of this year, I visited my girlfriend's family cottage in Bear River...all the way from Vancouver! At first, this village looks dull and sleepy, but things are happening in Bear River. Residents are looking inwards to agriculture and local talent rather than outwards to tourists for economic stimulation. One example can be seen in the Flight of Fancy art gallery, which features local and provincial artists, and another can be seen in Sissiboo Coffee Roasters. The unique name 'Sissiboo' was derived from the Sissiboo River in southwest Nova Scotia. This river was
