In the fall of 2014, Bay Credit Union announced that it was in negotiations to merge with Apple Community Credit Union. Apple Community Credit Union was incorporated in 1951 as Abitibi Provincial Paper Mill Employees' Credit Union Limited. In 1998, the Credit Union became open to serve the whole community and its name was changed to APPLE Community Credit Union.
Over the years, two other Abitibi credit unions, two Elevator credit unions and the CNR credit union joined Apple Community. These credit unions joined forces to form a truly local credit union, with two branches serving over 5,000 members, staffing 17 employees, and holding over $60 million in assets.

This account is best for you if the balance of your savings account is expected to fluctuate, or if you need access to your savings for an emergency. Another place I’ve been going to for almost 30 years and I’ve never had a problem and if I did they fixed it for me. The staff there are great people, for years I didn’t even have to say my name cause the clerk would know it by heart but just like a lot of things after so long some are gone n need to get to know new ones. No matter what they’ve all done a great job!!

I regret changing to this credit union from my previous larger financial institution. The issues I now have, make day to day banking more inconvenient. I have never had these issues until I switched:
NO banking app
To pay bills online, it takes a/the next business day before you can use it, see it, pay it etc.
Any deposits made at ATMS have a 7 day hold unless you go inside to deposit BUT the hours are terrible - "open on Saturday" only to see it is closed. No extended hours!
You can't take out any large amounts of money or deposit any money unless you go inside ....
