24 Carrots Bakery is a family affair! The bakery is locally owned by Richard and Demita Boschel, and managed along with their dedicated team of employees. It all began in 1994 in a food court outlet in Spring Garden Place. Over the years the bakery has relocated and expanded to include wholesale, grocery stores, and direct sale from our Bake Shop.
Richard completed his Chef's training in his native France - a country known for its love of bread! His expertise in the culinary arts, experience as an Executive Chef, and love of good food, have contributed to the success of 24 Carrots Bakery. Demita, a BBA graduate from Acadia University, joined the growing business in 2008, contributing 25 years of management experience.

Our wholesome breads are made from scratch by our skilled bakers using simple, quality ingredients. We offer a large collection of doughs and styles, and with our crusty artisan line you'll be sure to find the perfect bread for your meal or occasion. Our Bake Shop offers fresh bread daily and with special ordering, you can always ensure your bread products will be ready when you need them.
24 Carrots makes products in our baking facility containing wheat flour, triticale, peanuts, tree nuts, milk, eggs, and sesame seeds. We do not add soy or sulphites to our products; however some ingredients we use in our baking contain soy and or sulphites. Please contact the bakery if you have questions regarding the ingredients in a specific product.

I came here last week and had a last minute request for a cake and was expecting that the bakery needed more time in advance but they were beyond helpful and excited for the creation I was looking for! Cake was delicious and so is all of the treats they have in store! Will definitely become a regular customer here!

I will definitely recommend this place ,they did a very wonderful job on my birthday cake, I had ordered two cakes one of the cakes my husband just wanted a name on it but I was surprised they went an extra effort and decorated a very beautiful cake with no extra charge.

Beautiful job and a very good price for custom ordered sugar cookies, which is difficult to find in Halifax! Most places I checked were over priced. I was impressed and satisfied with the work, thank you very much!
Also, the croissants are WAY better than TIBS. They’re soft and flavourful. Definitely will be back :)

So it was only four days notice, I call these guys to ask for a carrot cake for my wife's birthday because that's what she wanted and they said "no problem" when the bakeries in Quebec city told me to "decalisse, en tabarnak."
So they box it up tight and I was able to transport it home to Quebec city where we had it for dinner the following evening and the reviews were nothing short of spectacular! Everyone loved the flavour; not too sweet and just the right amount of icing and excellently well spiced. I would highly recommend the carrot cake from 24 Carrots

Fresh, delicious and reasonably priced. Their carrot cake is my favorite - moist with cream-cheese icing the way I imagine it in my carrot-cake dreams. The fresh baked bread is wonderful too. The Nanaimo bar is superb - it is hard to find a good Nanaimo bar out there. And the Nanaimo bar is huge. Cupcakes are good here too.
Their bake shop is tucked away but worth the trip so that you can pick out the freshest items. This is my favorite bakery in town. This place made me fat.

I've purchased 24 Carrots baked goods from various places around the city, but this past weekend was the first time I set foot in their actual retail space. This is mainly due to the fact I didn't know they had a retail location. Recently, I've decided to reduce my waste and eventually go zero waste. It's quite the lifestyle change!
