Services
18th century Austrian painting of "justice" depicted as a putti with scales, axe bow and arrows and crowned with ostrich feathers. The other painting portrays "wealth" with the putti holding onto the cornucopia (horn of plenty). Hand-made faux tortoise frames in the 17th century manner. The inset is a photo showing the beginnings of the cleaning process.
A splendid bronze signed Henri Fugre (French 1872-1944), depicting a fierce gaullic warrior. Signed in mould together with Pro Aris et Focis. Given to captain C. F. Vogelgesang of the U.S.N. Escola Naval de Guerra in Rio de Janeiro in 1918. H: 25" (64 cm) W: 9 " (24 cm) "Pro Aris et Focis" is a latin phrase meaning "For God and Country" literally for our altars and hearths, used by many families and military regiments.
