Quaker Park Tennis Club
As we enter the second half of our season, the club continues to deliver programs, lessons and clinics. Financially the club is in good shape and sporting an increased membership. The social aspects of the club have been stifled throughout the pandemic. With the easements initiated and more people getting their vaccinations, we are seeing more members down at the club.

PLEASE take note of BULLETIN #8 which addresses a few items including EMERGENCY situations and TOURNAMENTS. OSGA DISTRICT GAMES - District games are currently on hold and will likely be cancelled for 2021. Nestled on the east bank of the Otonabee River, just north of Hunter Street, the Quaker Park Tennis Club is truly a gem in the rough.
Services
The Quaker Park Tennis Club is a non profit club open to the public. The club originally founded in 1922 has undergone a number of changes throughout the years. Quaker Park Tennis Club is self-supporting, meaning we are not funded by anyone and we do not receive any subsidies. The club operates using income from its membership.
Built by the Quaker Fellowship back in 1922, the tennis club was primarily used by Quaker employees and their families to socialize and to enjoy the park and its surroundings. The club boasted 2 courts with a white clay surface and a clubhouse which had been built of logs. Over the years, both the clubhouse and the courts were modernized with the clubhouse retaining much of its early design and interiors.
Quaker Park Tennis Club offers a variety of membership options. Visit our Fees page for a listing of available memberships together with a brief description of the privileges afforded to the various classes of members. In an effort to maintain the highest level of maintenance and control costs, all members undertake to provide up to 2 hours of volunteer time through the season.
Quaker Park Tennis Club hosts a social men and ladies league. There is no club fee to join either of these leagues however each collect funds from their participants to cover the cost of balls. The ladie's league has an annual fee of $12 while the men's league have each player provide a new can of balls 3 or 4 times throughout the season.
Building on the success of the 2019/2020 seasons, the Thursday night Mixed Doubles League is back for the 2021 season. In response to feedback from participants and our review of how the league operated last season, some minor changes have been made. Matches will consist of 2 sets of a 1 1/2 hour duration and be scheduled for 5:30 pm, 7:00 pm and 8:30 pm.

Nice & Quiet spot to sit. A lot of park activity on the opposing side of the Hunter Street Bridge but didn't hinder any enjoyment watching the river go by :)
