OLS, P, ENG was the first original land surveyor, hired by Imperial Oil in the 1940's to conduct land surveys for applications to be submitted to the Ministry of Natural Resources for drilling oil or gas and disposal wells in Ontario. For the Department of Highways, Bill surveyed the 401. Bill served his country in WWII.
Upon returning to Chatham, Bill joined the surveying firm, McCubbin, (which later became McCubbin, Brisco & Todgham), who were leaders in drainage engineering. He specialized in drainage engineering and sat as the engineer on the Ontario drainage tribunal for many years. His work in this field advanced farming throughout Ontario.
