Upper Cutz Barber Shop

I made an appointment on the phone. I arrived on time and the lady told me to wait 10 mins, she went outside and then came back, and went right back out to smoke before coming back inside. I told her what I wanted and she said pick one of the 5 from the wall. She was rude and made me wait and in the end I just left before she cut my hair because she clearly didn’t know what she was doing. Not professional 100% don’t recommend

Great barber shop, always excellent service. The staff are very professional, friendly and always take the time to make my son comfortable. Definitely one of very few places that can cut curly hair well.

Worst haircut experience ever in Halifax. Felt unwelcomed, a bit rude when asked about suitable hairstyle for my hair.... all they asked me to do was to choose from one of the 5 haircut; from the poster on a wall.
Didn't even bother to moist my curls before before using scissors... I just ended up with uneven hair lengths, which makes it obvious especially while using products on my hair to style it up. In & out in less than 8mins, no attention to details, as if they just wanted me out... even when the shop was empty.
They might be good, but not good enough to understand different hair.

Been going here for over 3 year and not once have I been disappointed.. These guys cut hair with pride and perfection. Highly recommend them.

Having been dissatisfied with the larger franchise hair salons for quite sometime, I decided to give a local barbershop a go. I read through some reviews specifically looking for comments about beard trimming and came across Upper Cutz Barber Shop.
Christy cut my hair and gave my quarantine beard a trim. I honestly can say this was the best haircut experience I have ever had. She took her time and asked all the right questions; I could literally tell that she wanted me to leave happy with the cut. Christy also took the time to briefly explain what she was doing at different steps and why. I left

Ashley is always great with her clients. Always takes extra care to make sure we all look good leaving the shop. Will return

Until I gave Upper Cutz a good try (6-7 visits), I thought that the expertise that barber shops offered was just *knowing how to cut dudes' hair.* What's weird about these folks is that they concentrate on a niche market; and if you're not in that niche... it's like they just don't understand you. They're nice enough ladies - which is what encouraged me to give it a good try - but there are better shops for me.
The thing that finally got me looking for a new barber was after Upper Cutz started mandatory appointments, I still had to wait for 50 minutes while the barber assigned (by them) to me

Friendly service and an excellent hair cut. Well worth what you pay for. Only place in Halifax I trust to do my hair right. Person who cut my hair today (Christy I believe) put a lot of effort and focus into making sure my hair was done correctly and looked good

I've been going here for almost a year. The barbers are super outgoing and I've never left with a bad haircut. The prices are very reasonable for the haircut that you get. Highly recommend checking this place out.

First haircut in Halifax. My barber took me as a walk-in about 1 hour before I had to be at a wedding. She was very skilled and in 20 minutes or less, she gave me one of the best mid-level skin fades I have ever gotten. As a visible minority (black), I was extremely impressed and as someone who visits this city quite often, I will definitely be giving this place my business exclusively.

Had brought both my boys there today and Rodrigo did such an amazing job! Took him awhile since their hair was so long and he took his time to do a good job j stead of rushing them out of the chair like we've experienced other places before. both look awesome - will keep coming back here for sure!

Hands down the best barbershop in the HRM. Awesome atmosphere, with bumping tunes and all the barbers are super friendly. You can tell that these ladies love what they do and they are good at it too. So far I've had haircuts from April and Jamie and they are the best cuts I've ever had. If you want a top notch cut and a great overall experience this is the place to go.

Absolutely in love with this barber shop. Have had nothing but the best haircuts/fade's so far and have definitely received a lot of compliments for them. Jamie-Lynn usually does my hair and she is phenomenal at what she does. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a nice haircut !!

Came from Bedford as I wasn't too pleased with my last haircut done at a headshoppe. Got a skin fade from a girl who's name I think was hedi? Anyways best haircut I have ever got in the HrM. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a nice fade, and the vibe in there is very chill..which is always a bonus

Travelled from Bedford to go here as it was one of the Only Barbers open on a Sunday. Very pleased that I ended up coming here. They have a cool vibe, decorated with things you would see in a garage or shop ( don't assume that means dirty, because it's clean). Staff is very personable and I was lucky enough to get my hair cut from the owner so it was nice to chat a little bit about her shop. I'm a fairly simple customer. Usually get my head shaved and beard cleaned up and lines sharpened. Usually ill be in and out of the seat in 5-10 minutes. Not here, and that was def not a bad

I went there for my haircut two weeks ago, and I was greeted as soon as I walked in, and when I described my haircut that I wanted, the staff right away new what I was talking about. The staff also told me how to get my ''cow lick'' down! Which is a plus. This barber shop is going to get my business from here on out.
