The femoral head forms the ball portion of the hip "ball and socket" joint and acts as the hind limb's pivot point during locomotion. If this portion of the femur becomes diseased (hip dysplasia) or has fractured, it can result in an extremely painful and arthritic hip joint. The femoral head osteotomy (FHO) procedure removes the diseased or fractured portion of the femur to help alleviate pain and increase quality of life for your animal.
Depending on the severity and location of the broken bone(s), surgical correction may be required. Radiographs (x-rays) before and after surgery are required to determine the severity of the initial break, to assess correct placement of these devices, and to ensure proper bone alignment.
Your animal may be sent home with a splint, bandage, or cast post-operatively depending on the severity of the break and how easily the fracture was able to be repaired.Additional radiographs are required four to six weeks post-operatively to check if the fracture site is healing properly and whether or not your animal still requires a splint or cast if one has been placed after the initial surgical repair.

Arthroscopic surgery is a minimally-invasive procedure in which an examination and treatment of a joint can be performed. Arthroscopic exploration and evaluation can be done on most joints including shoulders, elbows, carpi (wrists), hips, stifles (knees) and tarsi (ankles). Arthroscopic procedures require the patient to be under general anesthesia.

Our puppy broke his leg; we were in need of a good veterinarian. We gave Crestwood Veterinarian Center a call. From the beginning, they were more concerned about the puppy's health than what we could afford; the veterinarians and technicians were the best very friendly and made our puppy and us feel relaxed. Beau had his expensive surgery, and they worked out payments for us. They couldn't do enough for us and our puppy.

We started taking our 2 dogs to Crestwood when we moved here a year ago. The vet we saw, was really evasive. Getting any information out of him was like pulling teeth. It's as if I had to be the professional and ask him to confirm things: is his weight okay, are his teeth okay, information that should have been offered freely. I figured I would try a different vet at the same clinic, since this clinic was recommended by a local breeder. But no, same evasive lack of information. I also had to get some paper work completed for a patella examination because our one dog is on stud contract. The receptionist

Normally I would have nothing but good things to say about crestwood. I've been with them through a litter, a TPLO, and my 5 dogs regular health maintenance. However getting an appointment booked has been a nightmare. I called every day for a week straight with one voice-mail back when I was at work to get my previous litter vaccinations. Now after… booking through Petdesk 2-3 weeks in advance my appointment is not showing up on their system causing me to make another trip there, take up time from my work, and miss vital socialization time for my 12 week old puppy. I'm disappointed and frustrated

I went to Crestwood for almost 4 years for anything I needed for my dogs. I only recently changed vets since moving to BC. The front desk people are amazing and the vets are even better. They always found a way to book me in for routine care even when they were busy. If I ever had an emergency I was able to be seen within hours of calling. My catahoula is a bit skeptical with new people and they always went above and beyond to make sure she was comfortable. It's clean, the staff are compassionate and the prices are fair for the quality of care my dogs received.

I was first impressed by Dr Scott, when bringing our Miss Emma, to Penny for therapy, he saw Emma several times as Penny consulted with him basically given "M" a full exam; no charge. He has tru the years surprised me several times in the best of ways, and again today. Prior to Dr Scott, we had some very horrible experiences with vets, Emma suffered much to much, most were out to take as much $ as possible from you, not what would be best for your pet.
Dr Scott, cares, is honest, he is for what's best for your pet, if there's a simple solution he'll tell you. Thank You Dr Scott.

I brought my dog here as she was choking and this was the closest clinic near my location. This is not my regular vet, yet the service we received was nothing short of outstanding. I had called just before arriving so the staff were aware that it was an emergency situation. As soon as we arrived, they dropped everything and immediately took her in. I cannot say enough about the discretion of the staff, as when they saw we were distressed they took us outside to talk away from the busy reception area. I took my sister's dogs here for two different issues and I have to say, I have been very impressed by the professionalism of the staff and the opportunity to also get real help with two relatively serious issues. One was a serious eye issue and the other was a spinal issue that was affecting the ability of the dog to feel what was going on on his foot. They have a chiropractor who comes in Wednesday morning to deal with dog concerns and she gave the dog spinal adjustments that made a real improvement for him.

After over a year and about 5 vet's opinions, I finally found answers at Crestwood. Whenever I told coworkers or friends about my dog's problems and the lack of help from vets, they kept recommending me to Crestwood. So eventually I went and I am SO happy I did.
My dog had been vomiting blood for about a year. Vets treated the symptoms but could never find the problem. I went to Dr. Doug primarily because he has a lot of experience with endoscopy which is what I felt my dog needed at that point to figure this issue you.

We've visited a number of different vets here, all have been caring and thoughtful treating my elderly gal.
Best techs I've seen, and I've been around clinics with sick critters for many years. Blood drawn without shaving kitty... she didn't even notice! Impressive skills.
Very convenient to pick up pet food and prices are comparable to other clinics in town. Nice selection of toys and prices are really reasonable. Kong toys were less expensive here than at the pet store!
